Answer:	Finally figured this out. Forget about that raise connector part. Hold onto the long part of the handle itself, not on the grip because that will move. With other hand, hold the short blue handle on the scrubber. Whichever end you are holding up, turn counterclockwise while holding other part still. No instructions on their website either.

The cloth hamper insert and bottom panel are in the lid when it arrives. The hamper body is folded in half so it's a simple matter of: 1) unfold the hamper body, 2) insert the base and it snaps into place, 3) insert the cloth hamper liner, 4) place the hamper lid over the cloth liner and slowly push the hamper lid into place. Done! Really nice little hamper!
