Answer: yes, it folds smoothly and easily even after being outside in the weather.

Answer: We installed ours straight into the dirt. Our dirt is somewhat softer, not clay. We placed a piece of wood over the top and pounded into dirt. It is working fine and seems stable enough. As for strong wind, I can't really remark on as I placed this in a location where somewhat sheltered by the house ( cabin) But, since it is a rotary dryer, wouldn't it just spin if hit by strong wind? On another related note, at my main house our soil is much denser and I have installed a PVC sheath into ground for a thick Tetherball pole, no cement, and that also has not moved even with the hitting and swinging forces on the ball/pole. I hope this comparison Helps.

Answer: This is pretty durable and they have a great warranty with fantastic customer service! Mine had an issue with the arms collapsing after having it 3 yrs. They promptly sent me a new one. I love my clothesline and I have a family of 4 and a plethora of laundry. My only complaint is with the lines. With my old one, you have to be careful how you take the clothes off the line or you can end up pulling the line through the hole as they are all strung separately. It seems that the new one they sent me has a little bit different design on the anchor point. However, I am still careful with them because of my past experience.

Answer: No, because in rain your clothes are bound to get subjected by the natural elements. In rain, your clothes are bound to get wet and will not dry like you hope. Unless you plan to hold an umbrella to have your clothes dry but it would be pointless.

Answer: They are metal and it is strung already with a plastic cable. The umbrella and its parts are very sturdy and well made so one could change the cable to anything one might want to use, obviously taking into account the diameter of the holes. Have used it already about 3 or 4 times and i am still very happy with it.

Answer: I used my existing cement hole and it was a smaller diameter. However, the aluminum base pole was so weak that 1 load of clothes and a breeze caused it to bend and caused the whole thing to end up falling over

Answer: About 6'. I'm 5'4" and extend my arms upward to reach the lines. However, the ground sleeve wouldn't go completely into the rocky ground so if yours will, it may be a bit shorter than that.

Answer: I’m not certain. When I hang towels and jeans on it, the line definitely sags, and I tighten it to keep my things off the ground.

Answer: Probably China like everything else. It fails at 40 feet. It sags and slips. I do not recommend.
