In other words from one leg diagonally across to the end of the other leg with the stand opened out for set up. I can also tell you this is a heavy duty stand and the length makes it very stable. Much better stand than came with my tree and it was far from a cheap tree. I'm very happy with this stand.

Once you take the top piece off, (just pull straight up it pops right off), then you can start removing the branches by reaching into the middle of the tree and lifting off the branches one by one. once the middle of the tree is exposed you can see how it fits together. Then you just pull straight up on the top portion of the pole and it should pop right out. Then the bottom portion pops out from the stand, just pull straight up. I hope this helps.

Question:	What is the total height of the 7.5 Ft tree? I am seeing reviews that it is shorter than 7.5ft
Answer:	Bulbs can be replaced; it comes with some spare bulbs and fuses. But if one bulb burns out, that whole section goes dark, so trying to find the burned-out one is tedious. But, BEWARE - the company advertises a 2-year warranty but has absolutely refused to honor it after the top section went dead on mine after two weeks last year; I changed every bulb and every fuse without success and now they say there's NO warranty, even though their Amazon listing and printed warranty statement say there is. It's been months of wrangling with them and Amazon; I think they're just trying to wear me down. I do NOT recommend this tree on that basis, although it looked nice when it worked.

Answer:	the spout where you pour in the water is very small and is visible in the picture in the front. As long as you don't fill it to where water is coming out of this spout, no pet would be able to get to it. The spout could also be easily covered.
