Answer:	Yes I’ve had 2 they flake off like crazy. I finally got the stainless steel one and it does great and believe it or not it’s lighter in weight. I wouldn’t have thought the paint would make much of a difference but it does.

Answer:	That is the inside of the underside of the lid. The lid has a few layers/components (most of which come apart for cleaning). Easy to put back together. And that hook clips the next layer onto the top and that's what makes it TOTALLY spill-proof! I love mine, by the way :)

Answer:	The outside of the thermos does not get warm at all. Under the cover is a screwed on bottom of the lid. You have to make sure that that is tight or it could leak. You also have to make sure you put the lid on with the lid open and not closed because the vacuum gets so tight that I am unable to get it off. This thermos is excellent. It actually keeps hot liquids whether it be coffee, broth, or tea hot all day long.

Answer:	Is this for the North Korean army? I'm pretty sure Amazon does not carry so many in stock. You may want to buy directly from Thermos which is the company that makes these. Answer:	I would say mostly "yes", but it also depends on the particular car cup holder. The mug is only 2.5 inches wide at the base and 10 inches tall.

Answer:	YES - IT IS DISHWASHER SAFE, IF YOU USE A LITTLE COMMON SENSE. This vacuum bottle is warranted to take 190°F for 1 hour. Obviously, it will take the hot water of a dishwasher. What the manufacturer is clearly telling you in the instructions (without spelling it out) is that it won't take the very high heat of the heating coil in the bottom of a dishwasher. Daaah! Furthermore, for those people with poor reading comprehension, here is exactly what the instructions say, "To protect the paint, print or stickers on the outside of the Main Body: Do not use a dishwasher or dish-dryer. Again, it is the extreme heat of the heating coil in the bottom of your dishwasher that would be a problem. The obvious solution is that you only put it in the top rack - just like you would tupperware or any other 'dish' that could be damaged with extreme heat. Yes, the manufacturer is avoiding saying that you can put it in a dishwasher because they want to avoid the liability of ignorant knuckleheads who would put it right over the heating coil in the bottom of the dishwasher. How hard is that to figure out when they warranty this product to take 190°F.???? And, no the paint probably won't take the 200 to 300°F that you will find right above the heating coil. "If that hurts, don't do that." :-) A little common sense goes a long way. If you have any doubts - go to the third instance where the same question is asked and you will find an answer by MommyThree who claims to have put it in her dishwasher for 4 years! And, NO the instruction do NOT say it is not dishwasher safe. They simply prefer you hand wash it - rather than deal with the liability of ignorant people who would put it right over the heating coil. I mean, seriously, how hard is that to figure out?

Answer:	Yes, if used under most normal conditions --- it should be spill-proof. If you're doing g-force testing or traveling to the international space station, you may have some issues with the design of the lock or lid. If you're just tossing it in a bag or on the passenger seat of your Camry, you'll be fine.

Answer:	One difference is that the SM-KC48 has a significantly larger lid, taller and bulkier, than my several other Zojirushi's do. It is larger in reality than is shown because it overhangs a little on the front (latch side). But the opening on this is a little larger. So the choice is compactness vs. wider opening.

Answer:	I cook and pack food into the Zojirushi at 7:00am for my daughter. It is still hot by noon, when she has lunch at school. If she does not eat her packed lunch, the content of the Zojurushi is cold by 3:00pm when I pick her up. So, I would say that the food remains hot for 5-6 hours, conservatively.
