Answer: You could not really free stand this or lean against a wall with the screws provided. You would have to use bolts to hold the four pieces together. It is really meant to be screwed to the wall as you assemble the pieces.

Answer: The rack is about 3'10' tall, and the depth is 12". The width depends on how you install the two rails. I followed the manufacturer's recommendations, and it is 8.25" wide. With wine bottles in the rack, the effective width is equal to the height of the stored bottles.
