Answer:	We have it in an unfinished basement also but we screwed it into the studs. I do not think it would be sturdy enough otherwise. Very pleased with the wine rack though.

Answer:	I just measured. From corner to corner of the cubby (across the middle in either direction) is about 4.75 inches (not quite 5 inches but close). I saw someone else's answer of only 3.5 inches. I just re-measured and 4.75 is correct (diagonally from corner to corner). If you measure straight across the square (not diagonally from corner to corner) from the outer edge (not inner) to the other outer edge of the wood it is more like 4.25 inches across. From the inner edge to the inner is 3.25 (straight across the square)

Answer:	It appears to be dense particle board. As long as you don't gouge or deeply scratch it the solid wood appearance holds up fine.

Answer:	It is made out of wood... Not expensive wood, but it is very nice. I love mine.

Answer:	16-1/2" across - 6-1/2" depth 13" high (with a bottle places in the top space) the depth really depends on the bottles you place In the unit. It won't fit most standard champagne bottles. I'm no wine aficionado - but hock/Rhine/ mosel/Bordeaux/burgundy should fit. The burgundy will kinda barely squeeze In there --you always can put your larger bottle sitting at the top

Answer:	Slightly bigger than regular .75 ltr. bottles will not fit directly into the indents but the neck indents will keep the bottles in place.

Answer:	The dimensions just include the wood.
Question:	Is it safe to stack 3 wine racks on top of each other, or will it be unsafe
Answer:	Sorbus makes a 6-tier rack but adding 3 more might make it unstable unless it was on a back wall. I have stacked a 3 and 2 together with walls on two sides. That works well.
Question:	The large cutout at the back of the rack, is too small for a standard wine bottle. Are they all like this, or is mine defective
Answer:	The rack is not designed to fit all wine bottle sizes. I've managed to fit the larger wine bottles 4 across (instead of 6) with some careful maneuvering. I do have other wine racks that hold the larger bottles.

Answer:	Hi and Happy New Year! InPlais has an ammonia odor when you first remove the top (it is the liquid latex preservative). Just set the container aside for 3-4 minutes for the odor dissipate. It doesn't take long. Once you do that that will notice only a slight scent as you apply it, but not too noticeable or unpleasant. You do not need the proverbial well-vented-area to apply to your rug backing once you let the odor vent. You'll need two light coats. The latex dries translucent so it is almost invisible. Between coats place your brush in cold water to preserve it. Do not use hot water or it will set the latex and you will not be able to reuse the brush.

Question:	I have to fit this in a very tight place! What is the exact height including the wine bottles
Answer:	The height at the bottom of the thickest bottle we have in it, is 13" for the two tier, and each addition is about 5.25", so I would say the 3 tier with a bottle on top would be about 18.25".
Question:	I have 17 inches height to work with. Does the 3 tier height of 16.5 inches include the wine bottle in the top tier - or just to the wood
Answer:	The dimensions just include the wood.
Question:	Is it safe to stack 3 wine racks on top of each other, or will it be unsafe
Answer:	Sorbus makes a 6-tier rack but adding 3 more might make it unstable unless it was on a back wall. I have stacked a 3 and 2 together with walls on two sides. That works well.
Question:	The large cutout at the back of the rack, is too small for a standard wine bottle. Are they all like this, or is mine defective
Answer:	The rack is not designed to fit all wine bottle sizes. I've managed to fit the larger wine bottles 4 across (instead of 6) with some careful maneuvering. I do have other wine racks that hold the larger bottles.

Answer:	I think you have to order with three tiers.
Question:	what is the precise diameter of each holder? The description says "approximately 3 inches" Does that mean just over or just under
Answer:	It's bent, decorative wire so it is not exact. The inner circles are 3.5 inches in diameter. The outer ones where the clips affix (so that one can stack them) are 3.25 inches. Regular wine bottles fit easily and it is stable to three tiers high In my experience. Pinot Noir and some white wine bottles similar to them do not fit, nor do champagne-style bottles.
Question:	can i stack two elements on top of each other to store 24 bottles
Answer:	I tried adding a fourth rack and it wasn't stable enough for me not to worry about the whole thing crashing down. Try it and if your comfortable with the wine bottles crashing down, go for it.
