Answer:	I use them for that, as well, as other items. They are easy to open, but still air tight which is what you want. These canisters are smaller than standard ones. The glass is thinner, so you have to be careful. One of my dogs jumped up to the counter and knocked one off. It shattered into a gazillion pieces as it hit the floor. As a whole, they work fine as long as they are not manhandled.
