Answer:	Hi, ELS,It does a little bit of both. I have had this for a few months now and am really pleased with the design and material. The metal feet in the rear of the tray do a good job of giving the rack a nice angle for draining. The spout is not tremendously big, but it does a good job of draining the water. However, as with all dish racks, not every drop of water will always drain into the sink. The instructions for the rack suggest cleaning the tray once a month to ensure a long life for the product. All in all, this is convenient, effective, and well worth the money in my opinion. Best of luck.

Question:	Will the drainboard melt when with high temperatures? My do not have much kitchen space so I would have to set the drainboard on my metal oven
Answer:	Most all plastic will melt. Plastic products are made by melting it and using a mould to form it. Depends how hot the oven top gets. I see you asked 3months ago. Hope you didn't find out the hard way.
