Answer:	Most dried foods can be vacuum sealed. For beans and other hard foods, make sure there are no really sharp edges that can eventually poke through the bags if stacked on top of each other. A trick to prevent this is to take some thin cardboard (like a cereal box), cut to fit and "sandwich" the beans inside of it. Dry goods can also be vacuum sealed in canning jars by using the jar adapters.

Answer:	Hello, Absolutely not. A commercial grade bag is laboratory tested and FDA approved for use with food. Everything I sell fits this criteria and is commercial grade. I only sell commercial grade products that I use with my own family. I used to sell 4MIL bags. However, I learned that, unless you own a very high quality sealer, like a VacMaster, that has an adjustable seal bar heating time, a 4MIL bag can easily lose its seal if there is any moisture drawn up into the the sealing area of the bag. 3.5MIL bags are much more puncture resistant than the standard 3MIL bags that are sold in stores, but can still hold a reliable seal, even with inexpensive sealers. Question:	Will it work with mylar bags? If so, what is the recommended heat setting
Answer:	You’re better off buying a heat gun, and 6x6 shrink wrap bags. I use both this sealer and the gun. By sealing the bag with this unit, then using the heat gun to shrink it down to the body of the bath bomb or soap.
Question:	I intend to use this for sealing pvc shrink wrap bags for bath bombs before shrink wrapping them will this work with that material
Answer:	12" is the size of the sealing bar. I think they might work but I never try the bag that size.
Question:	This says it is 12". Will it seal a 12" bag
Answer:	While I am not familiar with this product, if you think it seals with heat, I wouldn't see why not. The Bag Sealer has a temperature adjustment dial that allows you to adjust for more sensitive plastic films or heavier duty plastics. You can also physically adjust the time the heat is applied by holding the handle down longer or shorter amounts of time. So the bag sealer should cover a wide range of applications successfully.
Question:	Will this work on Polyolefin (smell through) shrink wrap bags for CP soap
Answer:	I don’t know. I doubt it. They are designed to be for merchandise.

Answer:	I do not know why not. You will need the area that you seal dry for it to work. The bags are rugged.
Question:	Could i store water in these and seal with a heat sealer for back country hiking? Not vacuumed, just sealed
Answer:	I don't know the answer to this. I have a food saver and they work great.

Question:	Do these bags have texture or text on them? I'm looking for a totally smooth and plain bag
Answer:	These bags have to have a "texture" on the inside of one side in order to work. That "texture" is the channels that air flows out when the vacuum is applied. If you used smooth bags, the air would get trapped as the bag compressed and it would not work. Thus, there is no such thing as vacuum bags that do not have texture on one side. You can get ZipLok bags, but they are not vacuum bags.
Question:	Can i use this for coffee beans? I will not freeze it, just trying to keep fresh it
Answer:	I used to roast my own coffee, purchasing green beans and roasting them in a drum roaster in my backyard. Just after roasting, and I’m talking minutes, I would vacuum seal the beans and store them in a deep freezer. They would not gas off with CO2 while in storage, and after they were taken out of the freezer and allowed to come to room temp., they would gas off CO2, and the bag would puff up, but in 10+ years of roasting I never had a vacuum bag rupture. Also, when sealing the bag immediately after roasting I would manually stop the vacuum just short of maximum vacuum so that any sharp edges on some of the roasted beans would not cut through the plastic. I’ve done it this way for years without a problem. I can’t imagine someone purchasing coffee already roasted would have a problem with CO2 gassing off.
Question:	Will these fit into the bag holder of the foodsaver model FM
Answer:	FoodVacBags will not usually fit in the bag holder of many FoodSaver models because our rolls are 50 feet and the holders are meant to hold only about 20 feet of roll. One tip you can use to make this work is to wrap about 20 feet of roll around an old core and then it should fit great in the holder. You then will have 30 more feet to use at a later time. A little upfront work for a lot of great savings!

Answer:	They are probably made of another estrogenic plastic like Low Density Polyethlene (LDPE) which is a thermoplastic made from petroleum. Years ago it was not studied enough to know if it leached any toxic chemical so the claim, not known to leach, was considered as one of the safest. It is commonly used in beverage, food, and other liquid containers. Or from Polyethylene nylon blends which are considered mixed plastics. Nylon itself is different than plastics. It is derived from coal, ammonia, water, organic acids and contains nitrogen. Nylon food packaging in boiling water causes oligimers and caprolactum to migrate. Need exact oligimer formulas to look at their toxicity but caprolactum has human health concerns and has these risk and safety phrases in the European Union hazard system: Harmful by inhalation and if swallowed. Irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin. Keep out of the reach of children. Volatile and non-volatile compounds were found to migrate into olive oil at 350 degrees F for 1 h. The main problem with poly nylon materials and others is that manufacturers are often unwilling to disclose the full formulations and additives.According to several new studies and University of Texas at Austin Biology Professor George D. Bittner, avoiding BPA does not mean that you are safe from exposure to chemicals in plastics that are endocrine disruptors or have estrogenic activity (EA). BPA and phthalates are just two of several thousand chemicals that exhibit EA including many BPA derivatives that are more estrogenic than BPA. These chemicals leach from almost all plastics sold today, including some of the so-called safe plastics like polyethylene (HDPE or LDPE), polypropylene and PET. That is, plastics advertised as BPA-free or phthalate-free are not EA-free; almost all these plastics still leach chemicals having EA, and often have more total EA than plastics that release BPA or phthalates. Data shows that most all plastics release hormone disrupting chemicals. Check pubmed 25242410 Some suggest better alternatives to plastic like beeswax paper bags, glass or metal containers, reusable cloth, polyester or canvas, natural rubber, bioplastics or plant based plastics and silicone. Although there is no regulation for a product to claim to have silicone when it has none. How to tell then? Silicone can be clear but it is a somewhat “cloudy” clear. If it is crystal clear or it stretches far, it is probably not silicone.Some even suggest polyurethane, which is inert and thermoplastic rubbers or elastomers (TPR, TPE). TPE is mostly free of Bisphenol-A (BPA), PVC, Lead, Phthalates, Dioxins, and other notorious offenders. TPR doesn’t require the use of BPA and is made without PVC (and thus phthalates). But they are often blended with plastics and we are not told what they have instead of these known toxins.

Question:	can these fit over a 9 x 13 pan
Answer:	It won't fit over the whole pan, but if you line your pan with foil, make your casserole, & freeze it overnight covered with foil, you can tip the whole casserole out of the pan with the foil & the casserole will fit into a long tube made from these rolls. I do it all the time.
Question:	Has anyone used these with a Seal A Meal vacuum food sealer
Answer:	Those bag rolls will definitely work with that machine and with any other vacuum seal machine out there!!
Question:	Does the bigger roll fit in the food saver machine
Answer:	No, it doesn't. You'll have to roll off some length and work with this. These rolls also don't work well. The food saver machine has problems to suck all the air out before it is sealed. We returned to the more expensive, but reliably working original rolls.
Question:	How many mils thick are these rolls
Answer:	Not sure; it does not appear to be stated anywhere. But they feel the same as conventional vacuum seal bags. We've finished one full roll, and are well thru the 2nd. Will certainly purchase again. The 'only' problem was the rolls are too large to fit in the unit, but I just unrolled about 1/2 of it and used as normal. Save the inner cardboard tube for future use! Hope this helps!
