Tips to getting your popcorn just right:

1. Not all microwaves work exactly the same, so play with the timing until you get it just right. Experiment a little- your microwave may cook the popcorn faster or slower than the 2:30-3:00 average! If your precious popcorn is getting burnt when adding butter prior to popping, try adding the butter after all those kernels have transformed into beautiful puffed popcorn.
2. Always use fresh popcorn kernels. Store your popcorn in an airtight container. Refrigeration is not recommended.
3. Stopping and starting your microwave during the cooking cycle is not recommended. Once you stop the microwave, the steam buildup in the center of the kernel, which causes the popcorn to pop, will cool off and never reach the desired temperature to re-pop. If you restart the microwave you also risk burning the already popped popcorn. Using the sound test is the best way to determine if your popcorn is done. If there are more than two full seconds between pops, it’s time to stop.

Answer:	Silver gray color is the thin outer covering of the bean. It flakes off during roasting, leaving only the bean. It’s harmless, non-toxic stuff.

Answer:	No shaking necessary. That's what's good about it. A crank at the end of the handle turns a mixing rod at the bottom of the pan. This pops the corn very evenly without burning.

If you can’t put a magnet up against it and it holds, then no it doesn’t work and will be cold to the touch. Is aluminum magnetic? No. Only if it has a steel ply plate on bottom which this doesn’t.

Question:	How many watts has to be your microwave
Answer:	I wish I read this review before I purchased this popper! I put just one lid full of brand new popcorn (It was Black Jewel and doesn't expire till 2022) in and about two TSP of butter in the silicone lid. It started popping immediately but luckily I was standing by the microwave watching it when the microwave sparked. I stopped it, pulled out the popper and inspected it. I noticed that the square cardboard (waveguide cover) had a small burnt spot on it. Thinking that the microwave was suddenly going bad, I put a cup of water in the microwave to see if the problem would duplicate, but it was fine! So I restarted it again with the popper and within about 10 seconds it was sparking like mad and I thought I saw a flame. I immediately stopped it again and now the waveguide cover has a huge burnt spot on it. I have no idea why this is happening but the popper will have to be returned.
