User questions & answers
Question: | I'm seeing some comments that there are parts that are aluminum. What is the hopper made of? Does the food come into contact with aluminum |
Answer: | The fraim work is aluminum, the rest is stainles sreel, the cutter head and guide that keeps the meat from rolling up around the cutter head.I have had my tenderiser about two years now and am amaized how good it works. Between my son and I we have cut up and run 5 or 6 deer through tenderising. I had planned to purchase the electric motor to put on it but it is so easy to use even tenderising deet a child can do it. It is well built and wish I had bought one 10 years ago! I give it 5 stars and heighly recemend it. |
Question: | Will this chop stew meat into smaller pieces for a small dog to eat |
Answer: | no. It it will tenderize meat like a cube steak.I guess you could chop it up into bite sized pieces after you tenderize it.Hope this helps.....Jim |
Question: | how wide is the shute you drop the meat in |
Answer: | 6 inch wide and 11/2 inches thick |
Question: | I'm looking for something to flatten chicken breast, without having to beat it flat with a mallet. Would this work for chicken breast |
Answer: | It works beautifully on chicken breasts...we just put them through once. We use ours also, for boneless pork chops to make pork cutlets and for tougher cuts of beef for chicken fried steak or swiss steak...some of those we put through twice and nothing is ever left tuff. We absolutely love ours. We would recommend this machine to anyone. |

Weston 61-0901-W Heavy Duty Food Slicer
Thin, chewy jerky or thick, crisp, smoked bacon are just a slice away with the Weston 9” Meat Slicer. Now you can slice salami, steaks, turkey breast or meat for jerky easily and conveniently in your own kitchen. Whether you want deli thin meats or thick half-inch ham slices, this heavy duty slicer will perform.
The Weston Meat Slicer features a removable blade for easy cleanup and the stainless steel material helps prevent rusting. The blade is powered by a belt-driven 150 watt motor that slices through all of your meats and vegetables quickly and easily. The thickness control allows you to slice deli meats as well as steaks - and everything in between. And you don’t have to worry about it moving back and forth when in use. Suction cup feet keep it sturdy and in place while slicing. The compact design makes it easy to store and transport.
Thick or Thin
If you’re hungry for delicious steak sandwich, with gooey cheese, mushrooms, onions and peppers, there’s no need to venture out of the house. The Weston 9 inch Meat Slicer comes with an adjustable thickness control that allows you to cut deli thin slices for layering or a half-inch thick, hearty slice if desired.
Let It Do Its Thing
Don't force it! People often make the mistake of pushing the food carriage across the blade too forcefully. It should glide right through. When you force the slicer, you wear down the motor, and slow the blade. If you go with the flow, your slicer could last you a lifetime.
Keep the Food Cold
Cold is better. Fully frozen isn't good for any meat slicer. The ice crystals are too hard, and they will dull your blade and overwork the motor. But really cold and/or somewhat frozen is perfect. We recommend placing meats into the freezer for 30 minutes before slicing. Fish can be more frozen.
Create a Flat Surface
Cut item in half before slicing to create a flat surface. Face the surface against the blade. This will make a world of difference. If you start with an oddly shaped end, you'll get off to a bad start and have a tough time slicing uniform pieces.
Why Slice at Home?
Conveniently slice roasts into steaks, turkey into cutlets, pork into chops or venison into slices for jerky. This is especially handy when preparing foods for dehydrating or when prepping foods to freeze.
