Answer:	Mine has a black bottom and no alarm. Although it shut off, because I expected an alarm (like that the one i had previously) I didn’t notice when it had finished. Answer:	It's important to poke the hole into the fat end of the egg. This is because each egg has an air pocket at this end. And set the egg into the tray with the hole up so that this sulphury air can properly escape. You're venting the nasty stuff that you don't want infusing into the egg. Venting makes the eggs look great and taste great. Just remember, wide-end up.

Answer:	Mine (the stainless steel with "No Alert" option) shuts off automatically. I've noticed that it will cut back on if left alone for several minutes, though. I guess the water drips back down from the dome and the sensor thinks it's time to cook again. Since that happened, I try to flip the switch off right after they're done.

Answer:	I've never poked a hole in an egg. About every other time an egg will crack, but not frequent enough to worry about it. I just eat that egg immediately.

Answer:	I purchased one of these cookers about a year ago. Had problems with water boiling out, eggs cracking, and discoloration in the metal cooking pan. I was filling the water level to the top of the measuring cup as that's what I thought was needed. Was also using tap water. After reading all the questions/answers on Amazon, and the directions in detail, realized I was doing a lot of things wrong. Many comments were made about poking the hole in the top of the egg, I didn't know what the top of an egg was until reading these questions/answers, it is the large/more rounded side, which should be facing up when you get them from the carton. I was poking the pointy end. So I tried spraying a little cooking spray in the base of the metal cooking tray and did not fill the water measuring cup to the highest level. None of the eggs broke, no water boiled out, the eggs were super-easy to peel, and the little bit of dark discoloration on metal cooking tray came out completely after adding a little warm water. So what I thought were product defects were of my own making.

Question:	Why do some reviewers recommend using distilled water
Answer:	The manufactor reccomends it because the minerals in tap or bottled water will stain the bottom of the burner and you have to use vinegar to remove it. The instructions say over time it will cause discoloration to the eggs- don't know because after the first few times using tap water and then having to scrub the bottom with vinegar, I went out and bought a gallon jug of distilled water for 99 cents. Well worth the money.

Answer:	Barbara.....I don't recommend this pump for the reason that the funnels are very hard to fit on the pump itself. I feel it is a design issue. It is made in China. While I do have this pump and it does fill up a queen size air bed in under a minute I will not pull off the funnel from the pump as I feel I will never get it back on.

How to Boiling Eggs：

1. Firstly, remove the lid and then take out the egg tray and poachers from the egg cooker.

2. According to the desired consistency of the eggs to be cooked (soft, medium or hard boiled eggs). Use the measuring cup to adjust the accurate water pouring into the heating plate.

3. Prepare the number of eggs to be cooked (up to 14 eggs at most). Use the egg piercer to create a small hole in the larger end of each egg and then place them securely into the egg tray holes.

4. Place the cover on to the egg boiler, plug in and switch on the egg cooker at the mains power supply.

5. Once the water has completely evaporated and the eggs are cooked, the indicator light and egg cooker will automatically switch off.

6. Turn the power off after the cooking process has finished. Carefully remove the eggs because they will have become hot during the cooking process.

Question:	I cooked my eggs on high for 8 min using a 1250 w microwave and they were only soft boiled!! The top does not make a snap sound. Is it defective
Answer:	My micro is 1000 w & at 8 min my eggs exploded. There was still water in the bottom well but the eggs simply exploded blowing off the lid & eggs went everywhere. The yolks that I could find intact all seemed to be fully cooked; but I also has grain sized yolk all over the inside of my micro. Haven't used it since.

Answer:	8",is the height with the lid on, 16" is the measurement around the egg. This egg is large. If you can imagine an ostrich egg, it looks just like one. I was amazed at its size.
Question:	I lost my directions. Could someone supply them
Answer:	the directions are meaningless, I have an 1100 watt microwave and must cook the eggs for 12 minutes just to get medium boiled, haven't tried hard boiled. Do not follow the directions, experimentation is key.
