Answer:	If you're talking about the big round disc, on top in the back, I just leave that alone. It will self adjust. You just lock lid on and make sure the small dial on the top/front is set until the cooking time is over and you release the pressure with it. I know the directions are a bit confusing. I've always had a traditional pressure cooker but swapped over to have two-in-one. I kinda figured it out by trial and error the first time I used it. Once you do it works/cooks everything perfectly! Answer:	Hello, I purchased the pot and had it shipped to South Africa where I live. On first use the handles which appear to be made of hard plastic/ PVC, started melting! I switched off and they were already damaged. The voltage here in South Africa is 220 V. I cannot recall seeing any specific notation about the specific voltage, but 220 V must have been too high - unless the handles were defective. I returned the pot and was promised a refund by Amazon Returns. Regards Ebenezer.
