Answer:	With stainless steel it usually means leftover grease from the factory. You would need to scrub it with baking soda and oil, then clean it all off with dish soap. If not stainless steel, I agree that is concerning.

Answer:	The slow cooker function is high and runs around 165+ F. The "keep warm" function is low and is 145ish F degrees.

Answer:	Hi Judy - Yes this does have a beeper. When the rice is done it beeps on and off for about 5-6 seconds and automatically switches to keep warm. Once you're done you can press the power button and it toggles off so no need to unplug.

Answer:	You do not want the lid to be removable because that would require an extra (third) hand for operating the devise; and a clean and safe place to set down a removed lid. It is sufficient for the pot alone (and steamer tray) to be removable.

Answer:	I have the 8-cup one and the brown rice setting cooks quinoa perfectly! You have to soak it first (minimum 6 hours) but it comes out fully cooked, light and fluffy! I just purchased the larger 20-cup cooker (the 8-cup doesn't hold enough veggies for me) and am sure the brown rice setting on the larger cooker will make quinoa perfectly as well.

Answer:	Maybe. Since the ratio of brown rice to water is about 1 cup rice: 2 cup water the volume of pot is maxed out prior to cooking. Water and brown rice is full to the top. If you cook more than 1 cup brown rice you should get a larger capacity cooker. The measuring cup supplied with the cooker is 6 ounces full, rather than standard US 8 ounce cup of measurement.

Answer:	The insert measures 6" across by 2 1/2 deep, Total dimensions of the cooker is 8 1/2 tall by 5 1/2 across. This is a mini rice cooker enough for 2 cups of rice for two. I like it because I do not have any left over rice.

This removes the starchy powder which causes your cooked rice problem. —Buy the correct type of rice for your needs. Be aware of the labels on the packaging. Answer:	This is the small version. It cooks at most 1 cup of rice. It has no steamer insert unless I threw it out with the box. The full size version which I also own came with a aluminum steamer insert. Just a simple pierced rack that sits about 1/2 inch above bottom.

Answer:	You ask an important question. Yes the removable metal liner is coated but not with Teflon, or not with anything that resembles, other than in color, any type of Teflon product that I can used. The coating is more like a paint that has been baked on. While thin, it does a fine job of preventing the rice from sticking to the inside of the liner.Note - the liner is durable but it's made of thin aluminum and can be bent if a user fails to use a bit of love when using and cleaning it. Also, don't use anything harsh or abrasive when cleaning the inside of the liner. Just put it in water just as soon as the rice is removed and cleaning is a simple matter. My unit is just outstanding. The glass lid is a perfect fit. The unit has a small footprint and over all, is well made.Another note - the lid has a small vent hole. As steam xscapes while cooking water can trip down the side of the unit and onto the table, not a lot, but that can happen. To completely avoid that, simply price a paper towel, folded in quarters, on top of the hole and end of problem. Also, don't use the maximum levels of water lies as indicated on the measuring cup. That's too much for the unit. Start with less than half measure of water/rice and work your way up to determine your portion size.The ONLY grip I have with it is when it stops cooking, the heating unit will never completely shut down. When the light changes color, you must allow it to sit for a few minutes to finish cooking the rice. I get that. But I still have to stay alert and remember that after a few minutes I still must go over and unplug it from the wall in order to achieve a completely shut down unit. Otherwise at some point the rice will become something hard and dried out (just like my ex-wife's heart).Other than that, you will not be disappointed with his purchase. The squishy foam that supports your head when you go to sleep cannot be thrown into the wash with the rest of your linens. Answer:	The vegetable tray is 6.5" diameter and 1.75" deep. I don't know how big baby carrot bags are.

Answer:	I have this rice cooker and what always works for me is unplugging it as soon as it is done and letting it sit for about 10 minutes, letting it cool off a bit, it comes out clean without using any oil, grease, or butter. I find that if I try to take it out right away the rice has extra moisture on it and sticks to the pot and if it is still warming it will start to burn the rice so unplugging it is best. I do rise the rice once before putting it in just to rinse off any residue. For jasmine rice 1 1/4 cup water for 1 cup of rice, for brown rice 2 1/4 cups of water for 1 cup of rice.
Question:	No matter what i do (trying different amounts of water) i end up with a sticky mess. i live in colorado, could that be the problem
Answer:	The cooking pot is teflon coated aluminum. This cooker works really well. It produces great rice. and allows one to focus on things other than the rice.
