Answer:	About 16-18 minutes for 3 cups... but 3 cups is a lot for this little cooker, and it sometimes has a little liquid come out. Rice comes out pretty good. I now just limit this to 2 cups uncooked rice.

Answer:	Maybe. Since the ratio of brown rice to water is about 1 cup rice: 2 cup water the volume of pot is maxed out prior to cooking. Water and brown rice is full to the top. If you cook more than 1 cup brown rice you should get a larger capacity cooker. The measuring cup supplied with the cooker is 6 ounces full, rather than standard US 8 ounce cup of measurement.

Answer:	The insert measures 6" across by 2 1/2 deep, Total dimensions of the cooker is 8 1/2 tall by 5 1/2 across. This is a mini rice cooker enough for 2 cups of rice for two. I like it because I do not have any left over rice.

This removes the starchy powder which causes your cooked rice problem. —Buy the correct type of rice for your needs. Be aware of the labels on the packaging. Medium grain rice is ‘sticky rice’ like in sushi. Long grain rice is the soft fluffy kind.

Answer:	Yes you can cook without the lid, and I frequently do because when I cook oats it will bubble over if I use the lid and cause a mess.

Answer:	The three cup model consumes 300 watts, the five cup model 400 watts, and the eight cup model 500 watts. But I suspect you are actually asking about the voltage? In which case no, it does not use 220 VAC, It uses 110 VAC.
Question:	Rice is starting to stick badly. I'm thinking the non-stick coating is wearing off - can I restore it or should I just buy a new one
Answer:	When the rice is cooked, do not leave the item on WARM for too long. Unplug the pot and let it sit without any additional heat added. Make sure you stir the rice and water before starting to cook. Just putting in rice and pouring in water (without stirring) tends to cause sticking.
Question:	Does this rice cooker make sticky rice
Answer:	Sticky rice is not made, it is bought. Rice cooker are the way it is cooked in restaurants, so any rice cooker can do it. You maybe mistaking sticky rice for sushi rice which needs to have vinegar or dashi added. When you buy sticky rice in the store look for the words “glutinous rice” as well as "sticky rice" on the package. The 'secret' is to let the rice soak for 30 minutes at lest before cooking and to use less water than you would for short or long grain rice. Use 2 cups sticky rice to 2 and 1/2 cups water. Let soak for 30 minutes. After soaking, add ½ teaspoon of salt, then press the on button. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. You can freeze the cooked rice.

Answer:	Yes. Use the Glutin. Rice option. This is the option to select when cooking jasmine or other white rice.

Answer:	I only use my cooker to cook brown rice and keep it warm. I've never tried reheating rice. Except for the sounds of venting steam and occasional spoken words (" Brown rice selected", "rice is ready", ...) I don't think it makes other sounds.
Question:	Where are the pre programed muti cook functions
Answer:	There are left and right arrows in the menu selection. When you click on the arrows there will be multiple pre programmed options to choose from. The option you are hovering over will blink. To use that option, go over to your option and press "pressure cook." Hope this helps :)

Answer:	I have the 20-cup Hamilton Beach Rice & Hot Cereal Cooker, but looking at the pictures of the 8-cup cooker, the closure looks similar. On the 20-cup cooker, there is a button release, which allows the cooker to be locked while cooking, but can be released when the button is closed. It does not stay locked like say, a pressure cooker. You should be able to add spices half way through the cooking cycle.

Answer:	Cooking pasta in a rice cooker is easy. No draining required. First, make sure your rice cooker can handle the amount of COOKED pasta–remembering that it doubles in volume when cooked. Mostly I make about 1 cup dry, 2 cups cooked in my rice cooker OR Then, carefully add the noodles to the boiling water. If the noodles are too long to fit in the pot, just break them in half before putting them in. Let the noodles cook until they're tender, which usually takes around 5-12 minutes.
