Question:	Is it possible to make only half a cup of dry rice in this or do you need to put at least 1 cup in for it to function properly
Answer:	Maybe. Since the ratio of brown rice to water is about 1 cup rice: 2 cup water the volume of pot is maxed out prior to cooking. Water and brown rice is full to the top. If you cook more than 1 cup brown rice you should get a larger capacity cooker. The measuring cup supplied with the cooker is 6 ounces full, rather than standard US 8 ounce cup of measurement.

Answer:	The insert measures 6" across by 2 1/2 deep, Total dimensions of the cooker is 8 1/2 tall by 5 1/2 across. This is a mini rice cooker enough for 2 cups of rice for two. I like it because I do not have any left over rice.

Answer:	Sticky mess? You must rinse the dry rice in water, until the water is clear. This removes the starchy powder which causes your cooked rice problem. —Buy the correct type of rice for your needs. Be aware of the labels on the packaging. Medium grain rice is ‘sticky rice’ like in sushi. Long grain rice is the soft fluffy kind.

Question:	Can it cook brown rice
Answer:	The vegetable tray is 6.5" diameter and 1.75" deep. I don't know how big baby carrot bags are.

Answer:	I have this rice cooker and what always works for me is unplugging it as soon as it is done and letting it sit for about 10 minutes, letting it cool off a bit, it comes out clean without using any oil, grease, or butter. I find that if I try to take it out right away the rice has extra moisture on it and sticks to the pot and if it is still warming it will start to burn the rice so unplugging it is best. I do rise the rice once before putting it in just to rinse off any residue. For jasmine rice 1 1/4 cup water for 1 cup of rice, for brown rice 2 1/4 cups of water for 1 cup of rice.
Question:	No matter what i do (trying different amounts of water) i end up with a sticky mess. i live in colorado, could that be the problem
Answer:	The cooking pot is teflon coated aluminum. This cooker works really well. It produces great rice. and allows one to focus on things other than the rice.

Question:	What is the minimum amount,can it cook just one cup of rice (two cooked) ? I like the larger steamer size
Answer:	Yes, one cup of rice is fine. We might be able to cook only half of a cup but honestly I never tried it my self. The other answers are pretty much accurate. We can cook up to 6 cups and the quality is great, especially for the price. Whenever it's done cooking, make sure you either keep using the "keep warm" feature or just stir the rice up at the beginning so it wont' stick to the bottom and surrounding area of the cooking container. Enjoy!
Question:	Has anyone had a problem with the cooked rice getting dry after just a couple hours on "Keep Warm"? And if so, how did you deal with this problem
Answer:	I would suggest only using that feature for less than an hour. Frankly we used a rice cooker without that feature and we remove the cooking bucket from the unit as soon as possible and simply allow the heat of the metal keep the rice warm.The problem should be obvious to you. to keep ANYTHING warm means you are going to evaporate water from it, right? Next, if you try to add a little water, which you pretty much HAVE to do to keep it moist, means that the rice is absorbing water after the cook, and is becoming softer.It's a neat gimmick feature, but I wouldn't use it. I'd simply cook the rice closer to when I'm going to eat.
Question:	Recently lot of steam coming out of the hole in the lid, cooker surroundings becoming very messy. Any ideas how to address this issue? Thanks
Answer:	lots of steam does come out of the steam hole and it is supposed to do that. It does make a mess so we drape a thin tea towel - not folded over - across the top of the steamer and over the hole. While the towel does get damp, the mess is contained. The thinnest of the towel still allows for the steam to escape while keeping the surroundings relatively dry. Hope that helps.

Answer:	The slow cooker function is high and runs around 165+ F. The "keep warm" function is low and is 145ish F degrees.

Answer:	Hi Judy - Yes this does have a beeper. When the rice is done it beeps on and off for about 5-6 seconds and automatically switches to keep warm. Once you're done you can press the power button and it toggles off so no need to unplug.
Question:	Does the lid lock while the food is cooking, or can you add new ingredients/spices halfway through
Answer:	You do not want the lid to be removable because that would require an extra (third) hand for operating the devise; and a clean and safe place to set down a removed lid. It is sufficient for the pot alone (and steamer tray) to be removable.
Question:	Can you cook noodles in it
Answer:	I have the 8-cup one and the brown rice setting cooks quinoa perfectly! You have to soak it first (minimum 6 hours) but it comes out fully cooked, light and fluffy! I just purchased the larger 20-cup cooker (the 8-cup doesn't hold enough veggies for me) and am sure the brown rice setting on the larger cooker will make quinoa perfectly as well.

Answer:	U.S 120 volt plug only. If you what to use in UK used the plug adapter it will burn out the unit. You do need the step down transformer from 240v to 120v with 5 amp. Answer:	Yes it is. It says "made in japan" on the front of the rice cooker. Its the reason I choose this model over the others. So far, its an excellent rice cooker. Best one I've ever owned. I find the 10 cup size works better than the 5 cup as sometimes you want to cook extra and refrigerate it for fried rice. Get this cooker, you won't be sorry.
Question:	Can you make porridge (rice congee) in this newer version? Old version has porridge setting, but new one replaced with steel cut oats setting

We have a very similar model, slightly earlier; we've replaced the liner pan once, after someone used a fork to serve up their rice, but now even with strong admonishments to the household, it's been peeling again for a couple of years... and we can no longer get a replacement. I don't know why Zo doesn't make a household-level stainless liner model.

Answer:	I cook brown rice mixed with 25% wild rice at the setting of "Brown Rice." The mixture cooks well with 150% of water without presoaking, but it takes 110 min. When time is short, I use a pressure cooker; it takes about 30 min. When I was a child, I used to eat barley at every meal, but I don't know how to cook. I will ask around. We always ate buckwheat in as noodles. I have just bought a bag of quinoa. I will find an answer in a month.

Answer:	This model, the NS-ZCC10/NS-ZCC18, is the only one I've found labeled "Neuro Fuzzy" and is made in Japan, while the comparable Micom Fuzzy Logic NS-TSC10/NS-TSC18 is made in China. Two differences are that on the ZCC there are cool touch handles to pull out the pot and the steam vent is easier to clean. I have read in another answer related to the NS-ZCC10 5.5 cup model that the Neuro Fuzzy models have 2 extra sensors to also check room and lid temperatures, while the cheaper TSC units just have a sensor on the center post the pot sits on. It seems to me Zojirushi wanted to differentiate the Japanese made ZCC unit from its less expensive Chinese made cousin, the TSC/TGC, and Neuro Fuzzy was used as a buzzword to help identify the better model at a glance. Especially since ZCC has plain white appearance compared to the TSC. There are no comparable Chinese made versions of the higher end induction units, so the Neuro Fuzzy label is not needed for them. I also suspect the margins on the China made Micom Fuzzy Logic TSC models are good, and Zojirushi doesn't want to upset those sales by touting the spherical heating element or extra sensors on the Neuro Fuzzy ZCC too hard. I ended up ordering ZCC and would recommend spending the extra $20 over the TSC for it.

Question:	is the cooking pot stainless
Answer:	Buy regular rice. It’s cheaper per finished volume, and has a better texture! I make jasmine, brown and white basmati, brown and white, Japanese medium grain rice, and Japanese sweet sticky rice in this, and they all turn out great.
Question:	Is it heavy
Answer:	The steamer pan seems to be made of a thin aluminum, the rice bowl is a non stick material and more sturdy. The base is plastic.
Question:	can I cook only 1 cup of uncooked rice in this
Answer:	Yes, I use the steamer more than the rice cooker.
Question:	Where can we buy a new cooking pot for our 8 cup one? It still works fine but the interior non stick is failing
Answer:	About 16-18 minutes for 3 cups... but 3 cups is a lot for this little cooker, and it sometimes has a little liquid come out. Rice comes out pretty good. I now just limit this to 2 cups uncooked rice.
