Answer:	You can make 1/2, 3/4, 1 & 1.5 cup of uncooked rice. Any of these measurement the cooker will function properly. Important, Use the measuring cup provided. DO NOT USE OTHER CUP. The critical part is the water & rice ratio rules should be follow diligently to get good result.

Answer:	This is the small version. It cooks at most 1 cup of rice. It has no steamer insert unless I threw it out with the box. The full size version which I also own came with a aluminum steamer insert. Just a simple pierced rack that sits about 1/2 inch above bottom.
Question:	Is the non-stick liner coated with Teflon , or any other coating ? I'm trying to avoid Teflon coated products
Answer:	You ask an important question. Yes the removable metal liner is coated but not with Teflon, or not with anything that resembles, other than in color, any type of Teflon product that I can used. The coating is more like a paint that has been baked on. While thin, it does a fine job of preventing the rice from sticking to the inside of the liner.Note - the liner is durable but it's made of thin aluminum and can be bent if a user fails to use a bit of love when using and cleaning it. Also, don't use anything harsh or abrasive when cleaning the inside of the liner. Just put it in water just as soon as the rice is removed and cleaning is a simple matter. My unit is just outstanding. The glass lid is a perfect fit. The unit has a small footprint and over all, is well made.Another note - the lid has a small vent hole. As steam xscapes while cooking water can trip down the side of the unit and onto the table, not a lot, but that can happen. To completely avoid that, simply price a paper towel, folded in quarters, on top of the hole and end of problem. Also, don't use the maximum levels of water lies as indicated on the measuring cup. That's too much for the unit. Start with less than half measure of water/rice and work your way up to determine your portion size.The ONLY grip I have with it is when it stops cooking, the heating unit will never completely shut down. When the light changes color, you must allow it to sit for a few minutes to finish cooking the rice. I get that. But I still have to stay alert and remember that after a few minutes I still must go over and unplug it from the wall in order to achieve a completely shut down unit. Otherwise at some point the rice will become something hard and dried out (just like my ex-wife's heart).Other than that, you will not be disappointed with his purchase. Long answer to a short question but what the hell, eh? Good luck.

Answer:	It does not know. You will have to make sure you follow directions for cooking the different type of rice, like adjusting the amount of water. I know I have to put in more water when cooking brown rice. I also soak my rice for at least an hour and it makes the rice taste better and softer and more resistance starch is removed.

Answer:	I have the 20-cup Hamilton Beach Rice & Hot Cereal Cooker, but looking at the pictures of the 8-cup cooker, the closure looks similar. On the 20-cup cooker, there is a button release, which allows the cooker to be locked while cooking, but can be released when the button is closed. It does not stay locked like say, a pressure cooker. You should be able to add spices half way through the cooking cycle.

Answer:	When the rice is cooked, do not leave the item on WARM for too long. Unplug the pot and let it sit without any additional heat added. Make sure you stir the rice and water before starting to cook. Just putting in rice and pouring in water (without stirring) tends to cause sticking.
Question:	Does this rice cooker make sticky rice
Answer:	Sticky rice is not made, it is bought. Rice cooker are the way it is cooked in restaurants, so any rice cooker can do it. You maybe mistaking sticky rice for sushi rice which needs to have vinegar or dashi added. When you buy sticky rice in the store look for the words “glutinous rice” as well as "sticky rice" on the package. The 'secret' is to let the rice soak for 30 minutes at lest before cooking and to use less water than you would for short or long grain rice. Use 2 cups sticky rice to 2 and 1/2 cups water. Let soak for 30 minutes. After soaking, add ½ teaspoon of salt, then press the on button. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. You can freeze the cooked rice.

Answer:	I don't use it yet, But I know most of the rice cook they have steam release, and some still stay on the lip. If you want the rice still good for next day, after you cook and serve. unplus and keep it open unstill cold, and then close.But not tie.

Answer:	No it does not. The teflon cooking vessel is not suitable for storage and using it for storge whould esentially remove the cooker from use. If I have left over rice, I store in a plastic container which works well and I have cooked as little as 1/3 cup of rice without issue. Hence no leftovers.
Question:	I just bought this and I find the direction book very confusing. Is it 1 cup of water per cup of white rice
Answer:	If you're cooking one rice cooker cup of rice (which is 1 gou, or about 180ml... about 3/4 cup in standard cooking measure), then you add the rice to the cooker's pot and then fill the pot with water until the water line reaches the first marking (the line below the "2" marking) on the white rice scale that's on the side of the cooker's pot. You don't need to pre-measure the water, just add rice and fill to the appropriate marking on the side of the pot.

Answer:	Yes. You can cook 1 or 2 cups of raw rice. You can even cook 0.5 cup of raw rice, but when you have such, the water lever is very hard to control and it has to be evenly distributed.

Answer:	I bought it since the pot is stainless steel and it has a glass cover. Unfortunately The stainless steel isnt the best quality as I observed some nicks and peels after the first couple of times using it.

Answer:	The rice cooker I purchased was a 20 cup cooked and not a 10 cup. No the pot is not 100 per cent stainless steel. Magnet has a slight pull to it, at that price I wouldn’t expect to to be 100 per cent stainless. Better than eating out of an aluminum pot.

We again always recommend to rinse rice to avoid any boil over. Once you have added the rice and water to corresponding line. Question:	Is the bowl non-stick, or is it difficult to clean
Answer:	The bowl is non-stick and easy to clean. Beware though. Starchy water boils through the top vent during cooking and makes a sticky mess on the counter. I simply put the unit on a dinner plate so the mess stays confined. It makes great rice.

Answer:	Yes, I use only brown rice (never white) and it works great. Ratios that work for me are 1 cup brown rice/2-1/2 cups tap water. Do not leave it on the warm cycle for long or it will form a crust at the bottom. As soon as you hear the click that it was moved from "cook" to "warm", I unplug, open the lid and gently stir with the paddle to distribute the little remaining liquid. Then I put the lid back on the let it rest (unplugged) for at least 20 minutes. This method gives me beautiful dry brown rice. I wouldn't bother with the last 20 minutes if I was going to be dumping the rice into a stew. Enjoy!
Question:	What is the average cook time for white and brown rice? Looking for something that doesn't take hours to make basic rice
Answer:	If you’re not at sea level, it could take longer; I’m not sure. I live at 7,000 feet in New Mexico and gave up entirely on babysitting beans all day and use the pressure cooker instead. The reason is that in, say, San Francisco, water boils at 212 degrees. In Santa Fe, it’s more like 194. So it boils at a lower temperature and things take longer. This applies to oven-cooked foods as well, and baking is a nightmare. (We have good bakeries here, so I quit worrying about that.) This might apply to only a few, but 90 minutes or a bit longer is what I get for brown rice in a pot here. Advice? I’ll take it! Bon appetite!
