Answer:	Sorry, I can't answer that. But I would assume since it is made for use in America, that it would not be.

Answer:	No, the rice cooking part is not stainless steel, it is some dark color anti-stick material. But the pot for steaming is completely stainless steel. But it really a great product, it never burned rice or other grains I cooked in it. I am glad I got it. Hope this helps.

1.First, pick your function: White Rice: Use for all white rice varieties (long, medium, or short grain). A variety of grains can be cooked using this function: barley, millet, amaranth, and couscous. Hard White Rice: Use for a harder rice texture. This function works well when making rice salads. Soft White Rice: Use if a softer rice texture is desired. Sushi Rice: Select when cooking sushi rice. Creates a sticky rice texture. Brown Rice: Use for all brown rice varieties (long, medium or short grain). Also is ideal for these other grains: wheat berries, black rice, and wild rice. Risotto: A specially designed function to provide time to make the perfect risotto every time--all in one pot. Saving both time and cleaning. 2. Start Cooking: Fill the cooking pot with the ingredients and select the appropriate menu function by pressing the menu button. Your current selection will be displayed on the LCD screen. To start cooking immediately, press the Start button. To start cooking with a delay, set your cooker to finish cooking at a specific time. Press and hold the Finish Time button until the four digit Ready Time display begins to flash. You are now in the Finish Time set mode. Answer:	You can make 1/2, 3/4, 1 & 1.5 cup of uncooked rice. Any of these measurement the cooker will function properly. Important, Use the measuring cup provided. DO NOT USE OTHER CUP. The critical part is the water & rice ratio rules should be follow diligently to get good result.

Answer:	This is the small version. It cooks at most 1 cup of rice. It has no steamer insert unless I threw it out with the box. The full size version which I also own came with a aluminum steamer insert. Just a simple pierced rack that sits about 1/2 inch above bottom.
Question:	Is the non-stick liner coated with Teflon , or any other coating ? I'm trying to avoid Teflon coated products
Answer:	You ask an important question. Yes the removable metal liner is coated but not with Teflon, or not with anything that resembles, other than in color, any type of Teflon product that I can used. The coating is more like a paint that has been baked on. While thin, it does a fine job of preventing the rice from sticking to the inside of the liner.Note - the liner is durable but it's made of thin aluminum and can be bent if a user fails to use a bit of love when using and cleaning it. Also, don't use anything harsh or abrasive when cleaning the inside of the liner. Just put it in water just as soon as the rice is removed and cleaning is a simple matter. My unit is just outstanding. The glass lid is a perfect fit. The unit has a small footprint and over all, is well made.Another note - the lid has a small vent hole. As steam xscapes while cooking water can trip down the side of the unit and onto the table, not a lot, but that can happen. To completely avoid that, simply price a paper towel, folded in quarters, on top of the hole and end of problem. Also, don't use the maximum levels of water lies as indicated on the measuring cup. That's too much for the unit. Start with less than half measure of water/rice and work your way up to determine your portion size.The ONLY grip I have with it is when it stops cooking, the heating unit will never completely shut down. When the light changes color, you must allow it to sit for a few minutes to finish cooking the rice. I get that. But I still have to stay alert and remember that after a few minutes I still must go over and unplug it from the wall in order to achieve a completely shut down unit. Otherwise at some point the rice will become something hard and dried out (just like my ex-wife's heart).Other than that, you will not be disappointed with his purchase. Question:	What is the minimum amount,can it cook just one cup of rice (two cooked) ? I like the larger steamer size
Answer:	Yes, one cup of rice is fine. We might be able to cook only half of a cup but honestly I never tried it my self. The other answers are pretty much accurate. We can cook up to 6 cups and the quality is great, especially for the price. Whenever it's done cooking, make sure you either keep using the "keep warm" feature or just stir the rice up at the beginning so it wont' stick to the bottom and surrounding area of the cooking container. Question:	Has anyone had a problem with the cooked rice getting dry after just a couple hours on "Keep Warm"? And if so, how did you deal with this problem
Answer:	I would suggest only using that feature for less than an hour. Frankly we used a rice cooker without that feature and we remove the cooking bucket from the unit as soon as possible and simply allow the heat of the metal keep the rice warm.The problem should be obvious to you. to keep ANYTHING warm means you are going to evaporate water from it, right? Next, if you try to add a little water, which you pretty much HAVE to do to keep it moist, means that the rice is absorbing water after the cook, and is becoming softer.It's a neat gimmick feature, but I wouldn't use it. I'd simply cook the rice closer to when I'm going to eat.
Question:	Recently lot of steam coming out of the hole in the lid, cooker surroundings becoming very messy. Any ideas how to address this issue? Thanks
Answer:	lots of steam does come out of the steam hole and it is supposed to do that. It does make a mess so we drape a thin tea towel - not folded over - across the top of the steamer and over the hole. While the towel does get damp, the mess is contained. The thinnest of the towel still allows for the steam to escape while keeping the surroundings relatively dry. Hope that helps.

Question:	whats that black coloring leeching into my rice? Is that normal? Is it safe
Answer:	With stainless steel it usually means leftover grease from the factory. You would need to scrub it with baking soda and oil, then clean it all off with dish soap. If not stainless steel, I agree that is concerning.
