Answer:	Typical of many small appliances, when brand new they emit an odor as result of dust, etc burning off the coils... This smell can be plastic-like and is unpleasant but not generally harmful. I always darkly toast a few 'throw away' slices of bread when first getting a new toaster--then toast the ones planned to eat. The toast should have no metallic or plastic taste to it then and the appliance's odor should fade to nothing within a weeks daily use or so. If not, definitely return it to manufacturers!!

It toasts both side equally when on TOAST setting and toasts both side equally when on BAGEL setting. Bagel setting reduces darkness of toast by approximately 1/2 setting. Piece of crap if looking to toast bagels as I was. I have no idea why a bagel setting would toast both sides - pointless and deceptive marketing. Anyone know of a toaster that does a good job of toasting only one side of bagels, English muffins, etc.?

If needed I push it down (using 'regular) and try to recall before it is too burned:-) Since I toast many different things in the toaster I prefer using a single setting and adjusting my toasting manually. This sometimes means a 2nd cycle/button push. NO toaster will do all the variations I use with a single setting. This one does a decent job and is cute, small, and cheap.

Put it on the number that matches how dark you like your bagel, push down the lever, select bagel, and one cycle does it. You will need more if your bagel is frozen before toasting. I have had this toaster for at least 10 years, if not longer, and mine does not have a defrost setting.

Answer:	My coffee maker uses a different style filter. So I guess I can't help. But it works quite well without the filter. It filters the water not the coffee.

Answer:	If you mean to adjust the amount of coffee produced, there is none. The bar-code on the T-disc specifies how to make the coffee in the disc, and no adjustments can be selected. You can, however, have the machine dispense more water (through the grounds) when the cup has finished brewing. Answer:	I measured the width + the length across the bottom. The top part has slightly sloping edges, so, measurement may not have been accurate for storage purposes. Anyway, width-6+3/4" (AND allow two more inches for the part of the plug that remains on the outside after the cord is retracted). Length-11" + height-8".As far as 'pros + cons', there's one thing in addition to what was in my previous review of the product. It's weird, as bread is bread and toasted is toasted, but, it tastes so much better! The bread seems more porous, or something. This makes it really good and 'catches' whatever topping that you put on your toast.I am VERY satisfied and glad that I picked this toaster. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Answer:	One of our bread supports broke within the first month of using our toaster. We can still use it, but sometimes the bread gets stuck. I would not recommend this toaster. It's not very sturdy. Unfortunately, we will be looking for another toaster soon.
