Answer:	Bagel setting toasts on both sides. I usually also push defrost at the same time. The result is usually, as I like it or a little less so. If needed I push it down (using 'regular) and try to recall before it is too burned:-) Since I toast many different things in the toaster I prefer using a single setting and adjusting my toasting manually. This sometimes means a 2nd cycle/button push. NO toaster will do all the variations I use with a single setting. This one does a decent job and is cute, small, and cheap.

Answer:	I never tried ciabatta buns in it, but my comment applies regardless of what you put into the toaster. I'd advise to not put anything in it. I returned mine almost immediately. I'm still amazed that Hamilton Beach put it's name on a cheap junky little toaster. I have been quite pleased with many of their products. I would expect this thing to last about as long as a squirrel on a freeway. Sorry, but I'd find a better place to put my ciabatta buns.
