Question:	What extactly does the bagel setting do? Do is toast one side only
Answer:	Good morning Ralph! Yes sir. It is a precise dial numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and "Reheat". There are also an additional two options for type: Bagel and Defrost. I hope this helps!
Question:	How long is the cord
Answer:	Extremely flimsy, as is the entire machine. The lever on mine when pressed down, actually "jettisoned" itself onto the counter, straight down and out of the unit! I managed to push the piece back into the internal mechanism but it's obviously NOT really reliable! Another issue I had was the heating elements; fully half of them were flush against the backing plate, causing the toaster to brown bread very unevenly. I m the managed to VERY GENTLY move them away from the plate, which evened out the heat across the bread and eliminated the "burnt edge, raw middle" effect. This is a truly low end appliance that will be cleaned and donated for someone who can't afford better as soon as I decide which better quality machine I want to buy. ( I like good bread, so I've got to have the long slice unit).

Answer:	The lever at one end is the heat for both slots. The lever at the other end is to raise wire arms to place an object for thawing or reheating.

Answer:	There is a push down lever on the left side. Once you push that down, it pops up a rack you can lay something on to toast. There is no setting for bagels.

Answer:	The cord on my 4 Slice Toaster is about 24 inches long. Plenty for a counter plug. However, if you need more length, add a 6 foot extension cord. That should give you plenty of flexibility.
