Answer:	I have had the same problem. It does not seem to light automatically in the dark room, which is what I wanted. If I push the top right "Button" it lights for a few seconds but that is all.

Answer:	You can only see the display at night if the room is very dark and you have it set to so the Smart Nightlight is on. When you do this, you will be able to see the display, but it is not bright enough to be a nightlight. When you hit the snooze button on the top it does light up quite brightly, but that only stays on for 10 seconds.

Answer:	It's a standard battery maybe 2 months. Alkaline lasts a little longer.

Answer:	Run scalding hot water over the probe or wipe the probe with a soapy rag then rinse (probe).
Question:	Can I leave inside grill
Answer:	I wouldn't if the grill is on! There are thermometers for that application where the temp probe is placed in the meat while on the grill and the temperature is read remotely on your phone or a receiver. If you're talking about leaving the instrument in the grill when not in use I personally would not. Not that you couldn't.
Question:	Is it normal to have to calibrate as soon as it arrives? Out of box in boiling water it only read
Answer:	The boiling point of water is 212 F only at sea level. If you are at a higher altitude, the boiling point is lower.
Question:	Is it made in usa
Answer:	Was just about to purchase until I saw "quality is not prolem" and referencing American quality. Both statements are dead give away for being made in China. I may not be able to find a domestically made thermometer but I may be able to find one made in any other country in the world. No more China for me if I can help it.

Question:	I lost my instructions on how to change the battery and care for the thermometer what do I do
Answer:	Owner's manual says to change battery, use a coin to open battery compartment on the back. The battery type us use must be a 3V CR2032. You will see a C shaped metal on the left side of battery compartment. Insert battery at angle against the C shaped metal and press battery down. You will know your battery is properly installed if battery does not fall out when you turn thermometer over without battery door. If it does fall out, it means you need to reinsert it until it is lodged enough for it not to fall out. Once battery is secure, use a coin to press down and twist the battery door back on. To care for thermometer, wash only metal probe by hand & do not immerse completely in water. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Hold the calibration nut securely with a wrench or other tool and rotate the head of the thermometer until it reads 32˚F (0˚C). Thermometers should be calibrated regularly to make sure the readings are correct. The ice-point method is the most widely used method to calibrate a thermometer.
