Answer:	I've used mine for about 2 1/2 years 2 or 3 times a week. My backsplash is just 1980s style formica and I have it pushed back to the stops on the oven. I pull it out once a week to clean and have not seen any damage. I assume it can get hot just keep an eye on it until you figure it out. Also I never depend on the temp being what it's set on, most things I fry or bake are at 225 to 300 degrees and have developed quite good skills on this thing

Question:	What are the measurements between the feet (front to back)?? /What size shelf can it fit on
Answer:	There is about 9.5 inches between the feet. The entire oven front to back is about 15 inches, so it would fit on a 16 inch shelf. Hope that helps. I love mine. It is a great little over and very easy to use. It does stick out a little in the back so you would need 2 or 3 inch clearance.

Answer:	This IS an air fryer! The words air fryer just mean EXTRA HOT heat and a fan. Thats it. It’s an extra hot convection oven it requires no pre-heating. Cuisinart Chef’s is an “oven style” air fryer (bigger, holds lots of food, has shelves) versus the “bucket style” air fryer (compact size, doesn’t hold much food, you can only to cook one food item at a time). Chef’s IS an air fryer - but the words “air fryer” were not invented when they started marketing it, which is the sole reason the word “air fryer” is not included in it’s name. This is the absolute best appliance I’ve ever purchased. If you read Cooks Illustrated reviews, Wire cutter reviews, and most other reviews etc. you will find that it is fantastic. It maintains a perfectly consistent temperature. It heats up in no time. It cooks food in no time. It holds two shelves full of food - two 9x12” pans. You can prepare an entire meal of meat, vegetables, potatoes at the same time - in 20 min. It has completely changed how I prepare meals. Quick, easy, healthy, fantastic. Question:	Does the tray slide out when the door is opened
Answer:	Hi Fred, no there isn't an outside water level. You have to look into the opening where you fill the water into. Inside you'll see a line to see how much water you need to put in. For us it isn't a big deal to do. Usually we fill it every morning and that seems to work for us. We keep 4 gallons of water on hand each time we fill it so we aren't scrambling to fill them when it's low. On really cold days I'll check the level in the evening to make sure it has enough water overnight. This is the second winter using it and it makes a lot of difference in the air moisture throughout our house which is 1400 square feet. With that being said, we are very happy with it.
Question:	Do you have to turn it over and shake it to get the crumbs out? or is there a door ithat opens on the outside of the bottom of oven
Answer:	Filters are no longer packaged in anything. Instead, the company has decided to just ship filters in the shipping box with nothing else. My filters were contaminated upon arrival and I didn’t realize until 13 days later after I could hardly breath. After figuring out it must be the filters I threw them in the garbage, removed the humidifiers from my home, and my breathing went back to normal. I have a lot of experience with this product through the years so I know the filters are getting contaminated during shipping. When I called the company I was told they no longer use any packaging for the filters. They did not seem to care about my health or the health of others. If you value your health you need to find another brand. Reputable companies will seal their filters in plastic wrap. Don’t make the same mistake I did and trust this company. They changed their name from Essick Air to Air Care and use this seller as a front to avoid liability for their extremely negligent business decisions. This has been an absolute nightmare for me and I hope to inform others so as they do not have to go through the same thing or have their health permanently damaged. Proceed at your own risk!
Question:	Does the crumb tray slide out of the bottom or do you have to open the door and pull it out from the interior

Bought this model mid-winter, last year (2018)....had the same issue with it randomly just kicking in to loud fan noise, yet fan speed was not turned up. In fact, I had shut the unit off over night (did not unplug) and unit turned in randomly by itself and sounded like an airplane landing and then would just go back to normal .....and other times it just cycles off for a few seconds and then turns back on....each one of these instances, plenty of water....I am about over this product.

Question:	Can a roasting temp probe be used?will the door then close? - I am also looking at the new Wolf toaster oven to compare the two;any info is welcomed
Answer:	The BOV845BSS Smart Oven™ Pro and its predecessors which use the same Element IQ™ system that maintains a very accurate and specific temperature as indicated by the LCD once fully preheated. The only loss of temperature would occur from opening the door during the cooking process or not allowing the initial pre-heat to complete. Recommendations find a probe unnecessary, advice is simply to follow traditional roasting times and temperatures. Should it be necessary, keep in mind a reduction of temperature from opening the door and a requirement for needing some time to recalibrate to the indicated temperature selection. In terms of the door and probe, that would be within the realm of the operators judgment as too many variables exist on the market, though it is not something Breville has found necessary.
Question:	Can you use aluminum foil in this oven
Answer:	The BOV845BSS Smart Oven Pro™ is very similar to a traditional home oven and therefore can be approached with similar expectations. Due to the quartz heating elements (two top, two bottom, with a shield though still partially exposed) and the size of the cavity, caution should be exercised when using foil to prevent direct contact with the top heating elements especially. Careful and thoughtful alignment of the foil, tightly wrapped to avoid any contact with the heating elements is certainly required and recommended.
Question:	How do the bake and roast functions differ - and how does the slow cook function differ from using bake or roast at a low temperature
Answer:	The Element IQ™ technology featured on all Breville Smart Ovens' makes alterations to time and temperature to achieve a variety of results based on repeated results in our own test kitchens. Bake is a gentle approach towards target temperature, while roast is a more aggressive approach. Question:	Is it safe to use aluminum foil for baking , e.g. to cover the baking tray
Answer:	Thank you for your question, Margarita. Aluminum foil can be used on/around the food being cooked, and on/around the bake pan. However, be aware that using aluminum foil changes the heating characteristics of the oven, and may lead to unpredictable results. Never use aluminum foil on the crumb tray, the floor, the walls, or along the entire rack. Doing so will cause overheating, and improperly manipulates heat reflection, leading to poor results.
Question:	Is it ptfe or pfoa free
Answer:	It looks like stainless steel inside and out - I do not see any coating on it, I would not have kept it if it had. The inside is shiny SS and the outside is brushed SS. Very nice oven -- I'm a nutritionist and I like that it uses crystal rods for the heating elements - all the others in this class use aluminum. Not that I've seen any studies regarding this, but crystal seems a little better than heating up aluminum.
Question:	Would I be able to fit two slim (cookie sheet) 13x9" pans at the same time? (assuming I get a 2nd rack
Answer:	Yes, if your can find a second rack but.... you will not get an even bake. You can not successfully cook a pizza, pie, bread pan, roast, whole chicken etc. This oven does not get to 450 no matter how long you wait and does not have clearance for anything like bread or whole chicken roaster even on the bottom rack which I would not recommend for an even bake. Toast does not cook evenly either. If you are cooking small meal for 2 or reheating fine. This is not going to replace your full sized oven if you are a cook or baker.

Question:	what are the interior dimensions - from lower rack to top
Answer:	The onsite specs do say, and I affirm, that the interior has sufficient space to hold a 9in round item in the interior. What needs to be clarified is the height. The effective clearance - that is the available space between the lower rack at the bottom and the heating implement at the top - is slightly less than 4in. An item with a height of 3.5in should fit, but one needs to be concerned with any food being close to the heat source. I would advise against cooking any food in this oven that will rise in excess of 3.5in from bottom of pan to highest point.

Answer:	I don't what to say, it's size can be viewed online. I only use it to toast bread, bake/broil salmon that fits the tray

4-8 Hot dogs. Broil on multi-use pan. Set timer to 15 minutes and add time accordingly. Turn hot dogs often.

Hamburgers

Up to 4 pieces. Bake on multi-use pan at 450° F for (1/4 lb. each) 20 minutes.

Answer:	Thank you for your question, CaribbeanFarmLady. The crumb tray to this toaster oven is located directly below the lower heating elements inside the cavity. To remove or insert the crumb tray simply open the door. There is a slight lip in the front of the tray for handling.

Question:	can you control baking temperature? IT appears that the temperature dial does not control the bake temperature
Answer:	The use and care guide provided by the company does not provide any distance measurements in the safeguards section regarding clearance space, nor does it advise not using it underneath kitchen cabinets. With the roll-top door in the "up" position, you would need at least 14 inches of clearance to allow for unobstructed opening. You should also allow for at least an inch of clearance behind the oven to allow the door to open completely without touching a wall or back-splash tile. Question:	Can you plug it into 220v outlet
Answer:	No, it's not really hot on the outside I've touched it with my bare hands after making toast and it's just warm. The oven has double walls. However -- f you crank it up to maximum temperature for am hour, I assume it would get hotter. I don't know if that's recommend for any toaster oven.

Answer:	I just love mine! And use it all the time! It has a setting for toast as well as the regular temperatures all the way up to Broiling! But, I think my favorite part is the way it opens. It opens from bottom to top which makes the opening so much wider, and the window for watching your foods cook is bigger!
