Answer:	I do it all the time. use a thickener (like corn or tapioca starch) and a packet of unflavored gelatin when heating the almond/soy/blended milk to control thickness. I use more starter-- either double the powder or use powder and a storebought yogurt of same base. Honey for sweetener to bump up the cultures. experiment!

Answer:	No. This is some of the sturdier toy food I have seen. Some of them I can't squeeze at all, but there are a couple that if a child was persistent enough, they could probably smash. The majority of the food is fairly tough plastic though. It's some of the round hollow ones that have the potential to be crush-- but you would have to be trying to crush them to do it.

Answer:	About an inch and a half deep and measures about 8 1/2 inches from the tip of the handle to the top of the mesh. I cannot recommend the two smaller ones now that I have had them for awhile. The nylon mesh screen is so fine that it is very slow about letting even water run through. If the liquid being strained is thicker than water, it probably won't drain at all or drain so slowly that it will take longer than you would want to spend straining something.

Question:	I'm considering for my nephews, ages 6, 10, and 12. Do you think they can handle this without making a mess
Answer:	I don't think the 12 yr.old would have a problem. The younger ones might need help measuring and mixing the sugar and flavoring. Once mixed it just takes patience stirring and scraping the side of the bowl to "freeze" into ice cream, it takes a good 10+ minutes of stirring, depending on how firm you want your ice cream.
