Answer:	The tank, and the basket seem to do well in the dishwasher. I have not placed the lid in the dishwasher because it seems to do well with just wiping with warm soapy water. DO not use the lid during cooking! This is a deep fryer and any use of a lid may introduce water from steam to the oil causing a boil over of oil.

Answer:	5000 watts = 41.6 amps. Since there are two separate heating elements, that would be 20.8 amps per side. Most home outlets are rated at 15 amps and a dedicated microwave outlet is 20 amps. Something has to give here. If you plugged it in to an ordinary outlet, it should trip the breaker every time. That is unless this unit is not really 5000 watts. Simple mathematics.

Answer:	Using a candy thermometer, mine goes beyond 400 degrees Fahrenheit and when I cook with it, it cooks the outside just fine but the inside stays raw. I was also using breaded chicken that had sat out to room temperature.

Question:	Does this item really weigh 20 pounds
Answer:	I have been frying bacon a pound at a time in Presto rectangular skillets for about 40 years, but I start with about 1/2 inch of saved and filtered drippings. That way I am frying in a pool of oil (like frying chicken) and the pan's hot spots get evened out. But I use a much lower temp than chicken - like 275-325. The lower temp takes longer but the bacon actually comes out crisper overall -not just on the edges (longer frying time boils out more water). Higher temperature means you may have to "dodge the pops" like when frying chicken.

Answer:	The skillet is 3 inches deep plus the lid is rounded so you have 4-5 inches to play with. Makes the best fried chicken which is a delicacy here. We don't fry food regularly. Awesome skillet.

Question:	HOW DEEP IS THE SKILLET
Answer:	I bake in it all the time...to use in the oven, you use it without the handle/base. I often make a large egg bake with 1 dozen eggs, 1 lb sausage and greens to eat throughout the week. Plugged in, I fry the sausage, then wilt a huge pile of greens while I crack the eggs. Pour the eggs/milk over it, top it with uncooked mushrooms, maybe cheese. Unplug and put the base straight into the oven. ONE PAN! I LOVE this and another friend of mine uses it for almost everything she cooks...it makes a great morning griddle, and a great 1 pan dinner meal. (She just sets it on the stove without any of the handle/base parts. Actually, that's how I cook in it as well...I set the base on my glass topped stove and cook in it like that...without the handles and base.) Then, it can go straight into the oven as well. Both of us are no-nonsense people. ( If I were cooking with a child, I would use the base/handle assembly..) I've never done it, but it would be PERFECT for a huge batch of lasagne. Plenty deep, and you could roast a turkey in it, as well. My number one top use for this is making ketogenic low-carb shirataki noodle dishes. The large flat surface makes short work of drying out the noodles, which is step #1 for a good shirataki noodle dish. Then you stir fry your meat and aromatics directly in the noodles, add healthy fats and add shredded cabbage and misc veggies, bone broth, etc. ONE POT! I make four bags of shirataki Miracle noodles plus all the other add-ins for four large noodle bowl servings. Technically, I could probably do an 8 bag noodle dish in this pan, but that's more than I need.

Answer:	When the unit is heating up it is too hot to touch, but that's completely understandable since it works so well. I heat it up, use it, then let it cool down before putting the top cover on before I put it away for storage. Again, this is the best kitchen appliance I have ever used!

Question:	where to get extra oil filters for Secura 4.2L/17 cup
Answer:	The fryer does not come with any oil filters. I comes with one set of installed carbon filters and also one extra set so that when you have the lid on, all vapors pass through the carbon and really helps with any smell in the kitchen. I purchased the oil filter that Amazon usually shows that would be a good accessory for the fryer. It does let small particles pass through but so far they have not affected anything. The next time I see a restaurant supply store I think I will check out their filters. The one that Amazon recommends is certainly better than nothing and only costs around $10.

Answer:	Not that I remember. I have used a fryer before, so I would likely have tossed it if it did. Pretty simple operation. Fill with oil to max fill line, plug it in, turn heat to highest setting, turn timer on, allow to heat up, lower food into oil and put the lid on. Check food every few minutes to see if done.

Answer:	Sorry I'm late, don't check this email very often. The dial goes to 400, but if you go past that mark, maybe 425. This is a good skillet. I've put several other brands in my yard sales as white elephants, but this one is a keeper.

Answer:	The sides are about 21/2" to 3 " deep. It has a pour spout on one corner which makes the cover not seal. I have also contacted the company because after 3 uses the non stick is coming off. I would not buy this product again.

Answer:	1400 watt . I did not like the unit and returned it. I found the Presto 16 inch fold away skillet a much better buy.

Answer:	I returned the item so I never took items from the package. It was the wrong size.
Question:	Why do you eyes burn when the fryer has been on for a while
Answer:	Don't leave it on for a long time, put the cover on when not in use, I wear glasses when frying. Hot grease in the eyes would be bad, blindness would be the result.
Question:	How can a 2500w appliance work on 110v outlet without tripping the breaker
Answer:	From what I read it’s only 2000W and unless you live in Europe or something you outlets have between 116-125v. Typically it’s about 118 on one phase and like 123 on the other phase. This unit at full power it using about 16amps. Kitchen and dining room outlets supposed to be wired for 20A to be up to Code. So unless you plan on using it in your bedroom you will be just fine.
