Answer:	Late reply but yeah they'll work for being in the food service kitchen TO A DEGREE just don't walk too fast if the soles aren't clean. I would walk in them for a few min outside on the asphalt to get any grease residue off the soles before you go home and ruin the floors with oil and grease.
Question:	How do you remove the lid? The manual says to release black tabs but they do not seem movable
Answer:	They have a decent tread on them but I don't think they would be considered slip resistant. The outer sole is like the rubber trim seen in the picture. They have prettt good traction but technically I don't think they are slip resistant.

Answer:	I would not call the lid air tight but I haven't had any problem with anything getting in the fryer. I use my fryer so much I change the oil (canola) about twice a month.
