13 best panasonic bread makers
Panasonic bread makers are kitchen appliances designed to simplify the process of making homemade bread. These machines are part of the broader category of bread machines or bread makers, which automate the mixing, kneading, rising, and baking stages of bread preparation. Here are some key features and information about Panasonic bread makers:
Automatic Bread Making: Panasonic bread makers are equipped to handle the entire bread-making process automatically. Users typically need to add the ingredients to the machine, and it takes care of the mixing, kneading, rising, and baking, producing freshly baked bread without manual intervention.
Programmable Settings: These bread makers often come with various programmable settings to accommodate different types of bread, including white bread, whole wheat bread, multigrain, and even specialty options like gluten-free or artisanal bread.
Timer Functionality: Many Panasonic bread makers include a timer function, allowing users to delay the start of the baking process. This feature is convenient for setting the machine to have fresh bread ready at a specific time, such as waking up to the aroma of freshly baked bread in the morning.
Multiple Loaf Sizes: Bread makers from Panasonic typically offer the flexibility to choose different loaf sizes, catering to individual or family preferences.
Non-Stick Bread Pan: The bread pan inside the machine usually features a non-stick coating, making it easier to remove the baked bread and clean the pan.
Yeast Dispenser: Some models may include a yeast dispenser, which adds the yeast to the mix at the optimal time during the bread-making process. This ensures proper rising and contributes to the overall quality of the bread.
Viewing Window and Interior Light: To monitor the progress of the bread as it bakes, some Panasonic bread makers are equipped with a viewing window and an interior light.
Keep Warm Function: After the baking process is complete, some models have a keep warm function that maintains the temperature for a certain period, ensuring that the bread stays warm if not immediately removed.
User-Friendly Controls: Panasonic designs its bread makers with user-friendly controls and LCD displays, making it easy for users to navigate and select the desired settings.
Dough-only Setting: In addition to baking bread, many Panasonic bread makers offer a dough-only setting for those who prefer to shape and bake their bread in a traditional oven.

Question: | Does the bread come out whole or does it have holes in the bottom |

Question: | Can you make banana nut bread? What receipe do you use |
Answer: | There is not a recipe for banana nut bread in the recipe book that comes with this bread maker. I did try to make one using a recipe from the Internet (that claimed to work in bread makers) but it wasn't very successful. |

Answer: | SD-BMT1001 is equipped with quick sweet bread, gluten free cake, milk jam modes, which are not included in SD-MT1. |
Question: | Where is this made? Japan |
Answer: | It’s made in China . But it’s from Japan. |
Question: | Should I use converter to use it in U.S |
Answer: | If you already have an adapter, the manufacture probably recommends to use it, however I've heard they make electronics that should be able to tolerate between 100-127V. User questions & answers
Question: | How many watts is this product |
Answer: | The plate on the bottom of the unit lists the watts as 550 with 110 current. Hope this helps. We have had our unit for about six weeks and are very pleased with its performance. |
Question: | Does it have a gluten free setting |
Answer: | It does! Our bread machine arrived 2 days ago. I took a pic of the GF multigrain recipe, left my daughter to read through the instructions, and dashed to the store to get ingredients. Three hours later, we were enjoying warm bread. Perfect GF loaf - absolutely the first time we've ever used a bread machine. Total time for a std 2 lb loaf of whole wheat is 4 hrs, 10 mins. The GF setting reduces time to 2 hrs, 15 mins so dough will not be overmixed or over kneaded. |
Question: | Does the machine have non skid feet |
Answer: | Yes, it has rubber feet. However, mine bounces about quite a bit when kneading. It's not great. |
Question: | What is the wattage of this appliance ? Thank you |
Answer: | 550 W |

From the Manufacturer
Troubleshooting Tips:
When using the bread maker, please make sure that you first set the removable bread pan in the basin of the bread maker *BEFORE* inserting the kneading paddle into the bottom of the bread pan. Failure to do so can cause the kneading paddle to unseat itself when the bread pan is inserted and locked in to the unit. To insert the bread pan, follow the instructions in the use and care guide. Please pay specific attention to the snaps on the left and the right side of the bread pan. Both snaps need to engage to secure the bread pan into place. Failure to do so will result in an improper fit between the unit and the bread pan, causing noise and failing to knead the ingredients properly.

User questions & answers
Question: | Has anyone else have the pan keep popping up and then the paddle wont turn |
Answer: | You might check the brackets on each side of the bread maker and squeeze if too lose. The bread pan should snap into those brackets. You also might look down into the machine to see which direction the wing looking coupler is in and turn the coupler on the bottom of the bread pan to go over and sit firmly so the wing coupler can turn the paddle in the pan. Just my guess. My first machine needed the brackets squeezed together. |
Question: | gluten free breads |
Answer: | In regard to Gluten Free breads, there are mixes in the guide book with proper recipes for small cakes as well as loaf breads. I have NOT tried these, although if the ones I have are an indication, it will go well. After a few tries and some "Tweaking" I have done I think is My, I think, just over 100 shots with this rig, most ARE Loaf Breads. In closing hope this finds You well, and I see no glaring problems with Gluten free diets, don't be afraid of a "pinch" here or there methodology Go For IT!!......PEACE |
Question: | How do you remove the paddles before it bakes? By digging the dough out before it rises |
Answer: | I’ve used Breville and Cuisinart. At final knead, my Cuisinart beeps are 1:43 for my tecipe. Minimize disrupting the dough, I do not take mine out of pan, I think too much handling can cause flat concave top at times. Instead, just remove the bowl, tilt pan 90° so dough falls away from side, assist with fingers or rubber spatula if needed until paddle is exposed. Remove paddle, return pan to upright position and place back in machine. Dough will fall to center and rise nicely. You will now only have a small home in center of loaf bottom versus a large paddle hole in 3 slices. Enjoy! |
Question: | Is the bread pan teflon based or PTFE free ceramica |
Answer: | I emailed and called Cuisinart about this issue and was told "All of our nonstick coatings are at least a 2-coat system and pass extensive nonstick testing, including all standard FDA tests. All coatings are PFOA-free and the ceramic non-sticks are also PTFE-free. When this question was first asked in 2014, cookware was still made with PFOA, but in 2015 it became illegal to sell non-stick cookware with PFOA in the US and Canada. PTFE is considered safe as long as cooking temperatures are less than 450 degrees F. I have been unable to get a straight answer from Cuisinart on cooking temperatures for their bread machines. I was told it varies, depending on the setting. |
Question: | where can I find the instruction manual for the Just for Dinner West Bend breadmaker |
Answer: | Searched online and got the PDF of the full manual. http://ec1.images-amazon.com/media/i3d/01/A/man-migrate/MANUAL000003305.pdf |
Question: | I can not find my receipe book. Is there some where on line for me to get another |

Question: | When making raisin bread set on the speciality loaf setting, is there a timer/bell/noise that tells me when to add the dried fruit |
Answer: | I think there is, but i have never made raisin bread, or had to add anything.I don't really like this breadmaker much. I bought it at a yard sale for $5.00 and it was only used once or twice so was like brand new. I don't really like the consistency of the bread as it does not rise long enough. |
Question: | Can I make a gluten free small loaf of bread |
Answer: | I have made gluten free without any trouble. It's a great little machine. I am still really happy with my purchase |

User questions & answers
Question: | does this leave a hole in the bottom of the loaf, or does the blade retract befor baking |
Answer: | If you use the machine for baking, then yes, it does leave a hole in the bread. As this machine bakes a small loaf of bread and if baked in the machine, it has a hole in the bottom and is shaped similar to a chimney, I prefer to let the machine do everything other than bake the bread. After it is done mixing the ingredients, I take the dough out, shape it and bake it myself in the oven, just because of the aesthetics. The taste is wonderful no matter which way you decide to do it. |
Question: | Anyone have problems with over baked crust |
Answer: | We have only had our Mini Zo for 2 days. Baked 3 loaves yesterday. First loaf on "basic" and "regular" settings. Interior of loaf was very light and fluffy, but crust extremely crispy (making it very difficult to slice). Second loaf was the cheese and onion basic with light crust, to which was added 1 1/2 Tbsp drained, chopped, pickled jalapeños.. Cheese, onions and jalapeños were thrown all over, even outside of the bread pan, crust was VERY dark, and when sliced all of the add-ins were at the bottom 1/3 of the loaf, a terrible job of mixing! 3rd loaf was Yorkshire Spice Bread from "Quick and Delicious Bread Machine Recipes" by Norman Garrett, settings were "soft" with "light crust". Turned out quite well, except for the VERY dark crust. I wanted to be able to, at least occasionally 'set and forget' this machine for overnight baking of basic loaves, so setting a timer to remove the loaf early is not a practical solution for me. I am amazed at all the wonderful reviews for this machine (I absolutely did my research) when it cannot seem to produce a loaf with a decent crust, and am so disappointed in it that I hope Amazon will accept its return. |
Question: | trying to decide between the mini and the regular Zo, I'd like to use this machine to also rise dough- do you think it's big enough |
Answer: | It depends on the recipe. I bought the book "bread machine magic" as it has all recipes for small medium or large and I use all the small recipes which include dough recipes. I once tried a kolache recipe that was definitely either a 1 1/2 to 2 pound recipe on the dough cycle and it definitely had trouble kneading it and I had to transfer it in my kitchen aid mixer for the first 20 minute kneading cycle then I put it back in the zo as it does have the temp control for rising. Then it did not have any trouble kneading the second time because the dough was pliable at that point. You also cannot program so if you were to knead the dough then place it in the machine you have to let the machine run its course but there is a timed chart so you know about when everything happens. Anyway, if you stick with 1 pound recipes you pretty much will be able to make any kind of dough. |
Question: | I have problems slicing the bread, anyone have suggestions |
Answer: | Buy a great bread knife; it makes all the difference. I bought the Tojiro Bread Slicer 235mm F-737. It slices cleanly and easily through just about anything, warm or cold, hard crust or soft. I tried using a bread slicing guide, but just a little practice with my Tojiro knife produces as good or better results, and I never use the guide anymore. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can it work on 220 50/60 hz |
Answer: | Absolutely not! If you are outside the USA or Canada, you will need to buy a 220/240-Volt adapter or you will burn up the machine. |
Question: | is it noisy |
Answer: | No, I do not think it is noisy. Obviously, you can hear it mixing the ingredients but it is not disturbing and the ones I've had before were much louder. There are beeping signals for different stages, but I would have liked them to be louder so they could be heard in other rooms of the home. I don't feel there's enough noise to bother anyone, even if you turn it on before bedtime. I hope this helps. |
Question: | how high is this machine |
Answer: | It is not high at all. I'm it's probabtion officer and I just gave it it's weekly drug test and it's totally clean. If you want to know how tall it is and/or it's overall dimensions then it is approx 12" x 9" x 14" deep. |
Question: | Are these things really worth having |
Answer: | I was asking this for 3-4 years before I bit the bullet and bought this one. This machine really is *excellent* - and it really does do everything save assemble the ingredients, which takes 5 minutes once you have a recipe you like. It saves me hours shopping for low-salt bread - I can make a loaf in an evening (takes around 3 hours). The basic wholewheat recipe with this machine is really good, especially if you add some mixed sunflower/poppy/etc. seeds for texture. If you just want a quick loaf, try Bob's Red Mill 10-grain bread mix available from Amazon - it's tasty, cheaper than a store-bought loaf (if you buy a pack of 4) -- although once you have tried 4-5 loaves, mixing your own is easy. Then you can relax for 3 hours while the machine does all the work. The only (slight) downside is that it is a lot of work to make rolls - you have to take the dough out, shape it, then leave it to rise. But this is so much easier & better than I had hoped, that's a small thing ... |
Is there some where on line for me to get another |
Answer: | Go to the bottom of this WestBend listing: West Bend 41077 Just For Dinner Breadmaker (Discontinued by Manufacturer). There you will see a User Manual: download it. As well as the manual, it has recipes. The URL is: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/81t0Ux9i8aL.pdf |
