Answer:	I've had my KitchenAid since 1987 & have replaced the attachments once as they cracked from the dishwasher, even though they are supposed to be dishwasher safe. Yes, they absolutely fit the older mixer. If you have the opening in the front these will fit. I grate cheese, grind my own meats, make my own juice & wine, there is not much I have not used my mixer for.

Answer:	You can get it at most grocery stores. It's call Sausage/hot dog casing.

Answer:	The sausage tubes are too small in diameter to directly attach to the Ronco Pasta maker. If you want to attach these sausage tubes to a Ronco, you'll have to sacrifice one of your pasta dies. Using a metal lathe, cut out the center of the die until the sausage tube fits properly. Then, the die will act like an adapter, and you can mount the sausage tube to the pasta maker, and extrude sausage meat through it. I made such an adapter, but never tried running sausage.

Answer:	The grinder itself came with a small recipe book and the handle to force the meat down into the funnel. You also can't put a lot of casing onto even the smaller funnel. Buy a different stuffer you'll regret buying this. The grinder was great but 25 pounds of meat took forever to stuff with this product

Answer:	It will cut your shaft but you may burn threw one or two disks to do it. a chop saw with a 12" to 14 " blade would be better if you are cutting a lot of hard shafts.

Answer:	Premium aluminum alloy food grinder body, including blades, plates, and stuffers are aluminum, so we do not recommend washing in a dishwasher.

Question:	Could this grind a large boneless pork shoulder thats been cut into chunks, or would it not be able to handle the fat or that quantity
Answer:	Personally I would NOT attempt grinding bones etc with this unit. It simply is not strong enough in my opinion. Its great for small quantities like making some burger for the week or something similar What you need would be a more industrial unit. Good luck I know I enjoy mine for many various things but not bones. hope this helps

Meatball hors D’oeuvres

Grind 1 pound of beef

2 egg yolks

1⁄3 cup dry bread crumbs

1⁄3 cup Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons chopped parsley

3⁄4 teaspoon garlic salt

1⁄2 teaspoon oregano / 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper

2 tablespoons chopped stuffed olives / 1⁄4 cup olive oil

Steps

Place ground beef, egg yolks, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic salt, oregano, pepper, and olives in mixer bowl. Attach bowl and flat beater to mixer.

Turn to Speed 2 and mix for 1 minute. Form mixture into 30 (1-inch) balls and fry in olive oil until well browned. Drain on paper towels. Warm Tangy Barbecue Sauce and pour over meatballs. Serve warm from chafing dish.

Question:	Can thus be used to make applesauce
Answer:	Yes! It makes a wonderfully smooth applesauce. I wish I had gotten mine sooner. Wash, quarter and cook your apples first. Then put them through the top. It is so much easier than the old fashion hand cranked mill.
Question:	Can I use this for crushing grapes for home producing wine
Answer:	The users guide states it is not made for juicing grapes, or uncooked vegetables or fruits. That being said, If you cut up or mash the grapes first, It works fine. It is a more of a fruit/veggie saucer that removes seeds, peelings, etc. You do not get just juice, but depending on the type of a grape, more like a thin to thick sauce. You just need to strain it to get the juice out. Grape skins do break easily in this since there is nothing to cut them. If you cut them open they will juice just fine. I usually run my fruit through twice if the pulp (seeds and skins) are still very wet when they come out. The left over pulp is very dry after the second time. You may have to clean out the screen several times since the skins of some like to stick to the inside too. If you are making a large batch of juice, or don't have time to cut grapes and stop and clean the screen, I would suggest using a juicer made for grapes. You can also stomp or mash the grapes first, then you would have more of a mash that should work just fine. If you soften the fruit and skins by steaming or slightly cooking them, they work better too. Any fruit or vegetable that is not soft does not easily juice. I cut apples in 1/4s and steam them in a little bit of water till they are softer before saucing them for applesauce or apple juice. So, for a small amount of grapes, you are OK, for a large quantity, it would be a slow process.
Question:	Would this be good for straining seeds out of berries to make blackberry/raspberry jam? Last yr I removed the seeds by hand & that was for the birds
Answer:	did not work with the large blackberries that typically come from thornless varieties. The berries get stuck at the tip. (I also used it on wild blackberries with smaller seeds and it worked fine for that)
Question:	R there only 2 pieces to this item? KitchenAid site has a fruit/veg set for a little more money, how is this different
Answer:	The set includes both the strainer and the grinder. There are 9 individual pieces to this set. Amazon offers the same set that the KitchenAid site offers, but currently Amazon has a little better price than is offered at the KitchenAid site.

To Use Fruit/Vegetable Strainer Attachment

1. After attaching Fruit/Vegetable Strainer attachment to mixer, place mixer bowl under strainer tray to catch strained food and a smaller bowl under open end to catch food waste.

2. Cut food into pieces that will fit in the hopper.

3. Turn mixer to Speed 4 and feed food into hopper using the combination food pusher/wrench.

To Strain Fruits And Vegetables

1. Cut into pieces that will fit into hopper.

2. Remove tough, thick skin or rind, for example, oranges.

3. Remove all large pits, for example, peaches.

4. Remove hulls or stems, for example, strawberries, grapes.

Answer:	Yes this attachment will work on any KitchenAid stand mixer.
Question:	I would like to make some cheese straws. will this attachment work
Answer:	I doubt it. The dough required for this attachment and needs to be hard and needs gluten to hold it all together. If you plan to add cheese to the dough and do it that way, it may work, although I’ve not tried it. If you succeed, it would be great if you post the recipe back here
Question:	Does this come with the storage case? it says it does but i just bought one from william sonoma and it didn't come with one
Answer:	This model doesn't come with a separate storage case. The box it comes in has separate cut outs for the entire unit & disk. It keeps everything nice & neat. The box is very sturdy

Answer:	I love my pasta press! I use it more often then my pasta roller. I have more pasta shape options & it is so quick and easy!
