User questions & answers
Question: | Can you use this to make 16oz of coffee or does it only work when it's filled to capacity? I bought a Coleman percolator and it would not work |
Answer: | 16oz of coffee yes. But the maximum capacity is 32oz. Instructions clearly state that you must not fill the pot more than the bottom of the black filter basket, which is about 32oz. Being that a 'cup' is 8oz, then the capacity is 4 cups (32/8=4). This is in contradiction to the poster who says it will make 8 "large" cups - no way. |
Question: | What kind of filters does it use |
Answer: | None. There is a plastic basket inside where you can put your coffee. I never used a filter but suppose if you get a really small one it might help if some of the grounds, if small, escape into the coffee pot. |
Question: | Does the Medelco 8 Cup Glass Stovetop Percolator have any plastic parts |
Answer: | Yeah nothing in their description of this item says it has plastic parts everything is about the glass from Germany the glass from Germany the glass from Germany everything BUT everything is plastic except for the one piece of glass. All plastic cheap plastic |
Question: | What about shipping Italy |
Answer: | Who you calling Italy? |

General Product Use, Cleaning & Care
GENERAL PRODUCT USE (in accordance with Safeguards)
FOR GAS RANGES: use on medium size burner (max. 3.5" dia. burner cap) on medium heat setting; consult your range instructions for heat settings. Do not allow flame to extend beyond the bottom surface of the glass. Reduce from medium to low heat setting if flame extends beyond bottom surface of the glass.
FOR ELECTRIC RANGES: use on small size burner (max. 5.6" dia.) on medium heat setting; consult your range instructions for heat settings. Do not place product on burner that is larger than the width of the glass.
- Place Trivet on Electric Range coils as applicable.
- Add water to the Percolator, noting required minimum and maximum water levels, and insert stand and brew basket into the glass.
- Add one rounded tablespoon of coarsely ground coffee into the brew basket for every cup of water. Depending on taste, you may use more or less coffee.
- Cover the brew basket with the basket lid and insert top lid; align top lid opening with glass pour spout to allow for ventilation.
- Place Percolator on stove top to brew. Once bubbling begins to appear in top lid knob, continue percolating for 6-10 minutes maximum. The longer the coffee percolates, the stronger the flavor. Keep in mind that percolated coffee often tastes stronger than drip coffee so experiment with water and coffee ratios to achieve your favorite brew.
- Once percolating is complete, immediately remove product from the heat source.
- Carefully remove the top lid, stem & brew basket before serving the coffee.
CLEANING & PRODUCT CARE
- Do not use abrasive pads, brushes, cleaners or any metal products on or inside of glass.
- Do not scrub any scale buildup as it may scratch the glass and result in breakage. Use a liquid descaler as directed by descaler product, but do not scrub the glass.
- Use only sponge, plastic or nylon wash pads with soapy water when washing by hand.
- Dishwasher top rack safe. Avoid Percolator contact with other items in dishwasher.

User questions & answers
Question: | where is this made |
Answer: | does not say, but phone number is 1-888-melitta and the website is www.melitta.com. The office is in Clearwater, FL but that does not say where they were made |
Question: | Exactly how many filters are you getting when you order one of these? Is it 480 filters |
Answer: | 12 pkg. X 40 = 480, Yes, I am so happy to find these, so nice to keep the coffee grounds confined and not all over the place when they go in the trash. they are great for the camper coffee pot. |
Question: | This may be silly, but the description is confusing. Is this twelve packs of 40 filters each |
Answer: | Yes, 12 packages of 40 in each package. I didn't realize that when ordering. Now I have enough filters for the rest of my life or the life of my coffee maker. |
Question: | how does it work |
Answer: | filter is about 10 inches square - hole in center, 4 holes in each corner. Center hole fits over perculator tube - other 4 holes wrap corner to corner and fit on perculator tube (after coffee is placed on filter). great with Melita coffee too. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can someone please tell me the dimensions of the inner pieces? I’m trying to find a replacement for the insides of my old Pyrex 9 cup model |
Answer: | The inside piece measures 6 1/4 in. tall by 4 3/4 wide. |
Question: | I'm confused how does 28 cups of liquid fit into an 8.8 X 9 inch (79.2 cubic inches) container and hold a basket of coffee above the water |
Answer: | The part number Texsport 13215 and the picture are for a 9 cup coffee pot. The correct part number for a 28 cup coffee pot is 13219. Because of the incorrect information I chose not to order this pot because I want the 28 cup and not the 28 cup. I hope Amazon can correct the information on this page and I won't order until they do. |
Question: | Outside dimensions 28 cup variant |
Answer: | I am not sure what your asking. It is not real big, about the size of a 1 lb coffee can. |
Question: | Where is this made??????? U.S.A. or china |
Answer: | China same as Colletti |
Question: | Does the water heat up inside plastic or stainless steel also is it bpa free |
Answer: | Thank you so much for your question. After checked with our engineer about your questions, the answers as below: 1. The water heating process occurs in stainless steel 2. The machine is BPA free. Any other questions pls contact with us freely. Have a good day. |
Question: | After my machine has been on for 20-30 minutes the shot switches turn from green to red and it will not do a shot. What's going on and how can I fix |
Answer: | Hello, thanks for reaching out! The machine will automatically go into Standby if it's not working for 15-20 minutes in order to save energy consumption. This is the reason why the green lights turn red. To use the machine again you can press the espresso or lungo button (the small cup or big cup buttons) and wait for the machine to warm up, you will see the lights flashing (25 seconds approx). When the green lights stop flashing you are good to go! Enjoy your coffee! Let us know if you have any other questions. |
Question: | Dose it runs on 220V 50~60 Hz or Not |
Answer: | Hello! No, the K-Presso machine runs on 120V 60 Hz. |

Product description
Cuisinart brings its coffee-making expertise to the 12-Cup model of their classic stainless steel percolator. Piping hot water percolates through the grounds, and pulses up into the knob on top to create the familiar "perk-perk" sound that coffee lovers wait to hear. A detachable cord and stay-cool bottom lets this percolator go anywhere to serve, and it only needs to be plugged in to keep it hot.
- Convenient capacity of 4 to 12 cups. Cord length : 36 Inches
User questions & answers
Question: | Is the knob on the top glass or plastic |
Answer: | Don't buy this coffee pot. Be prepared for the cheap plastic knob on top to break. We used ours pot daily for the past 3 years. Once a year we have to replace the plastic knob. OK, there only $6.50. buy two right! Well the last one to break I call the company for a couple replacements. They don't just sell the knobs anymore you have to purchase the whole lid for $17.00. I told them to forget it. Buy a pot that has a glass knob! Spend the extra money. |
Question: | is it made in america |
Answer: | No, it's made in China. |
Question: | Does the pot keep the coffee warm by re-percolating periodically, or does it just have a heating element |
Answer: | No, it does not re-percolate after the first cycle. If you leave it plugged in after finishing, it is essentially just a hot plate that keeps the coffee warm. It will not percolate already hot coffee. If you want it to percolate the same coffee more, it has to be cooled all the way back down somehow. This basically defeats the ENTIRE PURPOSE of a percolator in the first place. It essentially is a drip coffee maker with a water heater, and takes away any control you have over how long it percolates or how strong it can make coffee. That is why there is a clear knob on top, so we know to KEEP it percolating. With this one, we can't. So what's the clear knob even for? It is a complete joke. |
Question: | Is the clear knob on the lid glass or plastic |
Answer: | Plastic, ours broke twice not replaceable. Loved the coffee it made but it should be glass, removable for better cleaning. Not buying a third pot. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is there plastic where the handle is to shield knuckles from the hot exterior? The picture shown seems like knuckles would get burned from the pot |
Answer: | I measured mine with a thermometer. Right after the "on" light comes on, the brew is a very hot 195 degrees F. |
Question: | I received no instructions on this 8 cup Farberware Percolator. I grind my coffee beans, but no information on grind, Please advise |
Answer: | I found this to be the best method for filtration and eliminating grounds in the pot. 1) Use 12 cup basket filters. 2) Wet the inside bottom of the basket and run water through the percolator stem. 3) Center paper filter over basket stem and punch wet percolator stem down through filter and hole in basket stem. 4) Push filter to bottom of wet basket to adhere. 5) Drizzle water from tap along sides of paper filter/basket and press ruffled paper to flatten against the wet sides of basket. 6) Add desired amount of coffee and start brewing. I've never had a problem with grounds in my coffee since... enjoy! |
Question: | i need a power cord for a fcp 280 coffeepot. where can i find it |
Answer: | Only want STAINLESS STEEL... No plastics, NO ALUMINUM... Does this fit the bill... Any Aluminum or Plastic touching what is ingested - no deal. |
Question: | How is the plastic knob attached to the top? Is it screwed in from under the top or welded? You input and/or pic would be greatly appreciated |
Answer: | Grew up on perked coffee in the 70's before ADC (auto drip coffeemakers). Every store shelf coffee was with a bigger grind of coffee back then for the percolaters. Everything now is switched over to ADC coffee grounds. Too small a grind. Leaves coffee grounds in the perked coffee. Need a bigger grind. Let's e-mail coffee companies to make percolator size grounds again. Maxwell House used to be the standard. Youtube this and fast forward to 48 or 51 seconds and see the actual grind https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X13ovEdx-fM or search youtube for "classic TV Commercials - Maxwell house coffee". You can also search and view "maxwell house ADC coffee commercial" that I grew up with when they changed the coffee cans in the store over to the ADC type of coffee that we have today. They had big ADC letters plastered on the coffee cans to advertise the changeover. Slowly the percolator grind faded away :( |

User questions & answers
Question: | Where can I find a replacement lid for my 8 cup percolator |
Answer: | The one I bought from amazon did not fit. Make sure the make of percolator is the same as the lid make. I tried different make of lid to the make of percolator which did not work. |
Question: | The nob broke off my 3 week old percolator fcp280, i cannot find a replacement for it. please help |
Answer: | I purchased Univen Percolator Lid that fits Farberware coffee pot. Hope this helps. |
Question: | does this fit a Farberware 12-cup percolator? I bought the glass top for it with a little connector on the bottom of the lid and it didn't work |
Answer: | I have the Farberware Millennium Limited Edition 12 cup percolator. This lid fits but it fits loosely. It does stay on during percolating. I don’t know if it would make a difference, but we don’t fill the percolator all the way. |
Question: | Does this lid fit a 6 cup Bialetti electric perculator |
Answer: | I don’t know about the Bialetti but it’s supposed to fit the Farberware and it doesn’t - went on so tight I struggled to get it off - it’s thin and it’s junk |
