This timer gets the job done, but every time you push a button to set the time it gives off a super loud and annoying beep with no way to adjust the sound. It also doesn't have an off switch so it seems like it's constantly running the battery. It's pretty cheap quality.

Answer:	.....responding to the comment down below....the reason it doesn't ring if you set it less than ten minutes is that it isn't 'wound up' enough.....to set it for a small amount of time you just have to wind it past ten minutes first and then just wind it back to whatever amount of time you want. A lot of wind-up timers are like this. Since it doesn't use batteries, the 'power' comes from winding. i.e. turn the dial to 30 or 40 minutes and then just turn it down to the 3 or 4 minutes or whatever that you actually want. :)

Answer:	No, there isn’t a warning beep but it’s so loud, it makes you get up immediately to go turn it off, lol.

Answer:	You don’t. Just change it to clock mode. The screen goes gray, but you can still read it. I’m very happy with it.

Answer:	The instruction manual says "When the countdown timer reaches 0:00:00, the timer will beep and flash for 1 minute and start to count up." So I specifically tested for this and it's correct. After 1 minute, the beep and flash automatically stop although if you press the start/stop button before 1 minute, the beep/flash stop immediately. It's a good basic timer, I like it - and when you're not using it as a timer, it doubles as a clock (time of day) if that's of any interest.

Answer:	How hot is the grill? I have not done it, but I am sure you can,since it is a mechanical device, but if it is too hot, the plastic bits and pieces will melt. Plus, the timer itself will get unpleasantly hot. You are probably better off placing it elsewhere or having a different timer.

Answer:	I am sitting about three feet from my timer that I am using right now and cannot hear the ticking. I hear it ticking lightly when I am within two feet or less. Yours may be defective and return it for a new one.

Answer:	Hmmm. That little black button on the back is partnered with a volume measure icon that goes from off to, I think, three in terms of volume. You have to press it for each and every different level of TOO LOUD unless it is in OFF mode. I hate the timer because even the first level of sound is too loud and I am hearing challenged so that says a great deal about the stupidity of the design. If the button doesn't change the level, then the unit you have is defective for sure. I've just turned the horrid thing OFF. Good luck.
