This timer gets the job done, but every time you push a button to set the time it gives off a super loud and annoying beep with no way to adjust the sound. It also doesn't have an off switch so it seems like it's constantly running the battery. It's pretty cheap quality.

Question:	What is the secret trick to turn down the volume? It does not work when the button on the back is pressed. Is this a manufacturer's defect
Answer:	.....responding to the comment down below....the reason it doesn't ring if you set it less than ten minutes is that it isn't 'wound up' enough.....to set it for a small amount of time you just have to wind it past ten minutes first and then just wind it back to whatever amount of time you want. A lot of wind-up timers are like this. Since it doesn't use batteries, the 'power' comes from winding. i.e. turn the dial to 30 or 40 minutes and then just turn it down to the 3 or 4 minutes or whatever that you actually want. :)

Question:	What are the dimensions of the digital characters in the display
Answer:	Once you have it set to the 2 min mark, it will automatically revert back to the 2 min setting once the countdown has occurred as long as you do not turn the unit itself off. But, if you do turn it off, it will revert back to the original zero settings. If you don't mind changing the battery occasionally, it should work just fine for your needs. All you have to do is set it and forget it as the saying goes. Just never actually turn the timer off which is exactly how I use one of mine when putting in my eye drops@

I've found the temperatures to be quite accurate. It functions much like an oven. The heating element cycles on and off to maintain the correct temperature. (Some reviewers have complained that it quits working after a few minutes - my guess is that when it cycled off because it had reached the correct temperature, the reviewer assumed it quit working.) It does come with an instruction manual that gives suggested temperatures for various cooking needs.

Answer:	You can use the start/stop button to start and stop all that are set, at one time. Or you can use the individual timer buttons to start/stop just one at a time. Or a combination of those buttons to achieve whatever countdown scenario you are looking for (i.e. two at once staggered, sequential starts, etc.). The only issue I've found, is the magnet on the back clip is a little weak. It will stick to a fridge or whatever, but it barely holds the weight of the timer. I I put an adhesive magnet strip on the clip and it works fine now.

Answer:	Hmmm. That little black button on the back is partnered with a volume measure icon that goes from off to, I think, three in terms of volume. You have to press it for each and every different level of TOO LOUD unless it is in OFF mode. I hate the timer because even the first level of sound is too loud and I am hearing challenged so that says a great deal about the stupidity of the design. If the button doesn't change the level, then the unit you have is defective for sure. I've just turned the horrid thing OFF. Good luck.

Question:	how loud is the beeper when time is up
Answer:	I own one of these timers (and very pleased with it) and ran the following test: I set the timer for 10 minutes and let it run down to 8 minutes and paused it. I returned after 1-1/2 hour and even though it went into a sleep mode (no display), when I woke it up, the 8 minutes were still on the display and when I pressed Start, it resumed the countdown from 8 minutes. Answer:	Actually, 2 pushes. One push turns off the beeping and sets it back to count down time, 2nd push off start/stop button starts count down again from original set time. The timer will keep the set time for each count down unless you change the time or turn off timer with on/off switch on side which saves battery power also, nice feature. Also, timer counts up if you push start with timer set at 0000, all zeroes, like a stop watch, timer set works very well kids love them, helps with washing hands, brushing teeth and school work these days. One dud still sits on my counter to be seen (gift) but i use cheap-o Walmart white windups (about 3 bucks).... one in a kitchen drawer (stashed out of sight) and one in my office for various time reminders. They last long enough to keep me happy or until i drop them. I wasn't impressed with battery timers either, but now my microwave has a timer....BUT, i still use the cheap-o wind-ups a lot and can move them to where i need them. The TAYLOR STAINLESS LOOKS GREAT.... IT'S A POS.....IMHO and experience!
