Question: If you use a sharpie as recommended, can the writing be removed with say acetone? Because what if you wish to change the contents of container
Answer: The lid is glass with a stainless steel rim, a plastic handle on top, and a steam venting hole that is about 5/16 inch diameter (this is not a rice cooker with an all-plastic hinged lid). My old rice cooker lid has a smaller steam venting hole that's about 3/16 inch diameter.

Answer: Yes this rice cooker has to be unplugged to shut off, meaning when your done cooking (after you left the rice cook in the warm setting) you have to unplug it to turn it off :)

Question: will this fit in the 3 quart instant pot
Answer: I use a sticky-backed paper label to identify contents, then cover the label with wide sticky tape. I write the date of purchase on a separate sticky label, then use Scotch Magic Tape to protect the date. When the original item is used up, I just replace the label with the date on it (assuming that the same item is put back into the same container). Or you could remove both labels & use the container for something different. This way you won't have to worry about damaging the container with harsh chemicals.
Question: Can you use roasting rack for eggs
Answer: Yes. My scoop came marked with measurements. HOWEVER, BEWARE - the measurements are INCORRECT. This is not a one-cup measuring scoop. It is about 3/4 of a cup.
Question: Does OXO make a silicone lid for instant pots
Answer: I doubt it. The accessories attach with a tab that is under the lid and that tab is built into the underside of the lid.
Question: Does the silicone item retain the cooking smell from item cooked? If so, hoe do you get odor out
Answer: It only connects to certain types of OXO lids. I didn't realize this and mine is not the correct type. I just washed it in very hot water, soaked it for 15 minutes, then laid it directly in the container with the hard brown sugar. It worked great!

Answer: Mine arrived, yesterday, and it smells VERY strongly of something like washing powder. Washing and airing didn’t remove it and I baked it at 160 degrees (convection) for 10min and the smell went through the house, even with the back door and window were open (in kitchen). It’s not 100% silicone, so the smell is likely to be from the plastic used as the filler. I’m disgusted with OXO and won’t be purchasing anything else with their brand name on it.

Answer: It would depend on how much water you put in the pot... the basket sits 1" from the bottom of the pot with the feet fully extended. So if you add 2" of water the basket is submersed 1"...Hope that helps...
