Answer:	I don't believe the blade can be set t peel something that thick. You set the potato into the frame and the blade glides along and scrapes the peel off.

Answer:	It can take a 5" carrot but it doesn't peel well due to the skin texture. Also, the device can't hold the carrot in the right position because its narrow shape.

Question:	Can i use regular standard aa batteries or do i need to use nimh aa rechargeable batteries
Answer:	I used regular batteries, but beware mine stopped working 5 seconds after I started it the first time. I turned it on and off a few times and NOTHING, I placed it on the table and I went to put it away 5 minutes later and it was so HOT I had to drop it. If I had put it in the drawer earlier who knows what would have happened?????? I took the batteries out and sent it back.

Answer:	I do not know. Mine worked for 5 seconds and stopped so I installed new batteries and nothing. I sat it on the kitchen table and used a regular peeler. We were about to eat lunch and I was going to put the peeler in the kitchen and it was so hot I dropped it. I took the batteries out and returned it.

Question:	Where does the stainless steel come from
Answer:	Yes, very well indeed. I make a vegetable/no pasta lasagna and use both zucchini and yellow squash as the "Lasagna noodles". Works brilliantly.
Question:	Can you peel an apple with this
Answer:	I have cut beets, carrots and yucca. Your ability to cut really hard, dense, vegetables is going to be based on your grip and arm strength as well as the size of the item you are cutting. If you quarter a beet before cutting, then you are cutting through less surface area. If you put a large-sized turnip on and try to cut through the entire thing, you are going to have a tough time unless you have very strong arms.
Question:	Does the material come from Japan
Answer:	the blade is not removable. Just wash under running water immediately after use so the food doesn't have a chance to stick to the blade.
Question:	Is this made in China
Answer:	Not traditional fries. It would probably work for thin steak-cut fries.
