Answer:	I don’t think it will hold up with raw potatoes. Honestly this melon baller is very cheaply made. I had used it a couple of times on melons alone and it broke.

Question:	Will the slices be thin enough that you can put them into a food dehydrator or might they need to be sliced again with a knife first
Answer:	I think you would need to make them thinner for dehydrating, but it would be difficult to do so. I saw a slicer on Amazon, maybe from the same seller, that sells one that does even smaller slices. Look for that one!
Question:	Is this apple slicer strong and sturdy enough to last in a commercial setting? We slice many apples on a daily basis
Answer:	I do not use it in a commercial capacity, but...it is the most sturdy, heavy duty, solid metal utensils I have purchased. There are no moving part to break and the heavy-duty thickness and weight of the product (in my opinion would make it ideal. My only misgiving about its use in a commercial kitchen, coring hundreds of apples a day is that this corer is best for a larger apple. You can use it on smaller (bulk bag organic-type type apples, but you will need to spend a bit more time nestling the center into position before you push down. On medium to large apples it is perfect. Simply center the core, bang, and twelve beautiful slices. Finally, I do use a cutting board and slam it down quite strongly, if that speaks its durability.
Question:	This came with white tool that looks a little like a disposable razor, what is this for
Answer:	If you look at the Description of the product you will see in the "Thoughtful Features" an entry titled "Easy Cleaning". Right below that heading is the words "Dishwasher Safe" and the next line below that is the words "Come with a peeler and a cleaning brush". Since the thing you are describing is not a brush, I'm going to assume that what you think is a 'disposable razor' is actually the peeler. A peeler is a tool that you would use to remove the skin (or peel) from the apple prior to using the Apple Slicer. I sure hope that helps since I wouldn't want you to use it as a disposable razor.
Question:	what is the inner diameter - i.e. the maximum diameter of an apple? it is not clear from the description whether 4.1 refers to blades or outer size
Answer:	The inner diameter is 4", and the hole for the core is 1". I have not had an apple that wouldn't fit. It's a nice slicer.

Question:	Can it be configured to slice and core but NOT peel
Answer:	As others have said, about 1/4". This works fine if you are baking a pie and don't leave it in too long. I usually leave mine in an hour to get the crust golden and I have ended up with more of an apple sauce pie. If you don't bake yours that long, it will probably come out more chunky. I like my pie with chunks of apple, so I peel the apples with the Johnny Peeler, then core and slice with my OXO corer/slicer that gives me nice thick slices that I can either slice again in half lengthwise, or cut the slice in half cross way to make large chunks and the larger slices/chunks leave the pie nice an chunky. If you don't care about having chunky pie, go ahead and slice them while peeling them. The pie tastes the same, I just like having apple chunks in my pie. The peeler is worth the price just for the time it saves me in peeling the apples, about 10-15 seconds to put the apple on the tines, peel it and pull the apple off. It is also much easier on my hands with my arthritic thumbs and if you have someone to core and slice while you peel, it cuts the time in half.
Question:	How does it attach to a work surface
Answer:	I have not had any problems with rust. After I use it, I rinse it under the faucet and throw it in the drain rack. I had my first one for 15 years and have had this one for 9 months. I love it!

Answer:	The slices are about 1/4 inch. You cannot adjust the thickness, but you can take the corer/slicer part off and core/slice them yourself. The slices are fine for pie and most things I use it for.
