User questions & answers
Question: | Can you use this on a glass top electric stove |
Answer: | Yes you can. |
Question: | I just received this griddle; it doesn't seem that the bottom will actually touch my induction cooktop. Will it work if it doesnt touch the surface |
Answer: | Works great on our induction cooktop on either side. Heats very rapidly if you want, but of course the way to heat cast iron is slowly so it comes to the temp you want to cook at. Cast iron is of course way better than the clad cookware that can get loud from vibrations as the different layers absorb the magnetic energy at different rates. This also doubles as a great defrosting plate from stuff from the freezer. Your great-great grandchildren will be glad you bought this as they're using it. |
Question: | Will this work on glass top |
Answer: | According to www.lodgemfg.com, it will work on your glass cooktop. It does say however to not slide the cast iron on the glass top. This link should give you more answers. http://www.lodgemfg.com/useandcare/seasoned-cast-iron |
Question: | How well does this griddle work on electric stoves |
Answer: | Be careful, cast iron can scratch your glass top stove but it will work on it! |

User questions & answers
Question: | will it heat evenly on a glass top stove |
Answer: | The bottom has concentric rings alternating high and low. So it is better for a gas stove/fire. It heats on a glass stove top, but takes a while because the flat part is so small and the high rings don’t touch the heating surface. |
Question: | What is the best lid for this wok? Actually it has outer diameter 14 inch and inner 13.75... Can anybody recommend the perfect cover |
Answer: | 14 quart Wok will a 14 inch top fit it cuz that's what I bought |
Question: | Hello |
Answer: | It fits exactly 6 liters or 1.585 US liquid gallons measured to the very top edge. |
Question: | is pro-logic P 14W3 cast iron wok made in the USA |
Answer: | All Lodge cast iron is made in South Pittsburg, TN. It is off I-24 (Kimball/S. Pittsburg exit) about 1 hour west of Chattanooga. They have a factory outlet store there that is wonderful to go thru. I used to live in a neighbouring town and my bank was in S. Pittsburg. |

The Lodge Reversible Pro Grid Iron Grill/Griddle provides excellent heat retention and distribution and fits over two stovetop burners. Two easy grip handles allow for easy lifting, flipping or hanging when not in use. You can use this grill to cook pancakes and eggs or grill chicken and steak.
The American-based company Lodge has been fine-tuning its construction of rugged, cast-iron cookware for more than a century. No other metal is as long-lasting and works as well for spreading and retaining heat evenly during cooking. Lodge's Logic line of cookware comes factory pre-seasoned with the company's vegetable oil formula, and is ready to use right out of the box.
This professional-size cast-iron grill/griddle combo from the Lodge Logic series measures 20 by 10-1/2 inches (with an actual cooking surface of 19-1/4 by 8-1/2 inches), serious enough to straddle either a campfire or two burners on your stovetop. The reversible feature of this crowd-pleasing cooker means you can use the smooth side for cooking flapjacks, eggs, and grilled cheese sandwiches, and the ridged grill side for hamburgers, steaks, and sausages. A slight slope drains fat into a generous grease gutter, and the two loop-style handles provide safe transport. After the meal is done, simply scrub the cast iron with a stiff brush and hot water, no soap, and dry immediately. Lodge covers the sturdy griddle with a lifetime limited warranty against defects. This pan is guaranteed to pass down from one generation to the next. --Ann Bieri

User questions & answers
Question: | what is the size |
Answer: | Overall size is 20X10.44 inches. It is designed to fit over two (front to back) burners on most home ranges. The exact fit will be determined by the exact measurements of the distance from the front edge of the front burner to the back edge of the back burner. The maximum length has to be approx 19.5 inches to accommodate this griddle. |
Question: | where was lodge LPG13 Pro Grid cast iron grill made |
Answer: | Slight correction to comments. All Lodge "seasoned cast iron" is made in South Pittsburgh Tn. But sadly, Their enamel cast iron is made in China. |
Question: | Does it work on an induction cooktop |
Answer: | I have a Samsung induction cooktop (this model NZ36K7880US) and can report it DOES heat evenly and consistently on that model when the ridges face down. It does NOT work with a family member's thermidor. So it is dependent on your induction cooktop. |
Question: | I have an electric stove with the glass on the top. Is this griddle good on electric stoves |
Answer: | I've used mine on my electric glass cooktop as well as in the oven. It works great with both. I'm very happy with this. |

Answer: | Yes the rule if a magnet will stick to the bottom it is induction ready I have only used mine on my induction cooktop. |
Question: | Anyone with experience cooking salmon? Suggestions? Recipies? (I don't like highly-seasoned foods |
Answer: | 1. season your salmon with some oil seasoning paste (oil + seasoning+ salt+ other spices of your choice). Let rest for 10-15 mins for the oil seasoning paste to be absorbed into the fish. If you don't like highly-seasoned foods, then make sure you buy good quality salmon, and you can just season it with some salt and a thin layer of oil, then adding some fresh lemon juice before serving. If you want to skip the oil too, then you need the part of the salmon that has more fat)2. Heat the pan until very very very hot, you don't need to put oil into the pan.3. Use medium high heat. Put the fish with the side you want to present on the plate DOWN. Seal for 2-4 mins depending on the thickness of your salmon.4. Flip the fish when you see the meat is almost half way cooked (you will notice the cooked part has a slightly different color)5. Turn OFF the heat or turn the heat down to low, because the heat from the pan will cook the meat for you and this process will prevent from over-cooking your fish.6. Cook for about 2 to 3 mins or until you see the color of the fish meat is slightly pinkish and when you press the fish with your finger the meat will not bounce back.7. Serve with some freshly cut lemon wedges, the squeeze the lemon juice on the fish before eating. |
Question: | The best way to clean a cast iron grill pan |
Answer: | Cast iron cookware is my favorite! I usually just rinse with hot water and use a mild scrubber on mine. After some time, however, my cast iron gets buildup on the sides - I put the pans in the self-cleaning oven and they come out like new. They do have to be re-seasoned but that doesn't take much effort. I'm sure it would work fine on this ridged pan that is sure to be more difficult to clean. |
Question: | how does this compare with the much more expensive enamel coated version? and why |
Answer: | Much better. I have this Lodge and the LC enamel version. Trust me on this - never buy this style pan with enamel coating. Grill type pans are more difficult to clean because of the ridges, nooks & crannies. Because cast iron seasons better and becomes more non-stick than enamel, it is MUCH easier to clean with use. My LC is in the garage awaiting disposal. I love LC, but their grill pans should be avoided. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the diameter of the area that actually touches the burner (on a flat induction cooktop |
Answer: | The bottom is 9", but part of that includes the curve between the bottom of the pot and the sides so only about 8" would actually be touching the stove surface. When you reverse the "lid" to be a frying pan, 8" would be touching the stove surface. |
Question: | can it be used in a 500 degree oven to bake bread |
Answer: | Even though you may not BAKE bread at 500 degrees, it is a good idea to preheat the oven and cast iron up to 500 to compensate for heat loss when you open the oven. I typically turn oven down to 450/425 after I've placed the dough and covered. The preheating seals the crust and allows for a good steam. |
Question: | Exact dimensions |
Answer: | Handle to Handle width: 12 5/8"Non-handle width: 10 5/8"Depth including lid: 6 1/4"Depth without lid: 4 1/2"Depth of lid including lip: 1 7/8" |
Question: | what is best way to re-season the lodge logic l8dd3 before using it |
Answer: | I'm a bit late for you, but for anyone else who comes along wondering ...Wash well with hot soap and water when you get it home. Then dry it. Then put it on the stovetop on a low heat for a good 10-15 minutes to thoroughly dry the pores, while preheating oven to 350-400. Coat VERY thinly with a HIGH-smoke point oil (grapeseed or flax seed oil). Stick it in the oven, upside down (protect bottom of oven in case you've put too much oil on) and bake for a good hour. Turn off oven and leave pan in oven until cold. You can/should repeat as often as you want initially, up to about 6 times (if you stay aware of the pan, you can remove from oven while still warm to apply another THIN coating of oil, if not then start at the heating pan on stovetop point - best to apply oil to a warm or hot pan), but a couple to a few times should be enough if you're conscientious about applying oil to the heated dry pan after every use. (Oh, don't use soap again, just rinse or wipe out well after every use - using a scraper or hard brush if needed, then heat on stove). Eventually applying another coat of oil to the pan is something that only needs to be done every so often, and you'll have a beautifully seasoned pan without waiting for years! After cooking something greasy, I'd wipe out all the grease, heat the pan well wiping out the extra grease as it heats til pan looks dry. Not necessary to apply oil again since the bacon grease (or whatever) serves as a coating of oil.I have to admit, though, that I've never done the oven method, although I know it's highly recommended. Mostly because I have the time/patience to do it all on the stovetop (takes more babysitting and time). I've always PLANNED on doing the oven method, but it was summer when I got my first cast iron and didn't want to heat up the house. It worked so well for me, I've done all my pans that way. Now that it's winter, I may try putting a couple of my newer pans in oven, but most simply do not need it any longer. The reason I heat the pan on the stove every time after I rinse it is because there could be water vapor in the pores that I can't see. You need to dry that out before you season the pan! Besides, oil is applied better/easier to a warm/hot pan.Lastly, you ALWAYS want the pan to look dry after you've applied the oil. If you can see the oil, or the sheen from the oil, you've applied too much. Literally only takes a few drops! If you apply it too thickly, you'll probably end up with your seasoning flaking off down the road.If rinsing or scraping your pan isn't taking cooked on foods off, then you can use kosher salt as an abrasive. Toss it into the pan (I like to do it while it's warm), and wipe over the spot hard with a towel. It's worked for me every time, though I rarely get stuff cooked on (usually will happen if my daughter cooks since she's new to cooking). Worst case scenario - if you've done the seasoning recommended above, you cannot hurt the pan by boiling water in it for a few minutes, till the cooked on stuff softens. BUT ... you MUST then season the pan, on the stovetop at least!Hope this helps someone! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you keep this on while cooking on the stove |
Answer: | Since it's made of silicon it's probably good to use while cooking. If you have a gas stove and the flame comes around the side of the pan, the temp may exceed 500 degrees and it may scorch. |
Question: | The sleeve did not fit the smallest pan that comes with the Lodge Cast Iron set. Is there a smaller sleeve for that |
Answer: | If you read the information published on this listing, it says that this handle is for 10" and larger and then gives you the Lodge number for 8" and smaller. Since the handles vary in size, one pot holder cannot fit all |
Question: | Can you leave this on always if you use it on the cook top, and NOT in the oven |
Answer: | I have an electric (coil) stove top. I leave mine on all the time. It doesn't get hot when I preheat the pan and it hasnt ever melted. I do take it off when I clean the pan and don't put it back on until the pan has thoroughly dried. I don't have drawers in my kitchen to store it in, but leaving it on hasn't caused any issues for me. |
Question: | I read it protects up to 450 degrees, wondering if it's oven safe or only meant for quick use to move the pan from burner |
Answer: | Remove it as soon as you put the pan in the oven. Then you can put it back on just prior to removing the pan from the oven. You must realize that it would get hot in the oven just like the pan. The up to 450 degrees is just saying not for use if the pan was heated beyond that temp. |
