User questions & answers
Question: | Does the water drain well into the sink? It looks like it would |
Answer: | I just got mine and it wasn’t sealed either. I’m kind of relieved to know this seems to be normal. I definitely think it should be sealed either on the exterior with a plastic wrap around the lid or else on the inside with those silver peel off tamper covers. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Have you got grey ones? i bought a grey set but they have a tinge of green in them. they're not a true grey. do you think i got the wrong ones |
Answer: | They would make great dinner napkins but they are so big they could be cut in half making two out of each one. If you sew they can be rehemmed and each one would make a very generous large napkin. Hope this is helpful :) |
Question: | Is this a super soft dish towel |
Answer: | If you place the end of the mat with the extended edge next to the edge of the sink, yes, it could slightly drain off. I use the mat to dry out washed wine glasses and never really get too much water on the mat so draining is generally not a big problem. If you're asking does the mat dry off by itself, no. If there is some moisture on it I just shake it off in the sink and lay it back down. |
Question: | Did anyone try a cold vinegar wash before first use to set colors |
Answer: | The 10 oz amount comes in the jar but the 6oz amount comes in a tube. I have purchased both sizes but the jar seems better to me because it has more beads in it for scrubbing and less cream unlike the tube. |
Question: | I want to use these as large casual napkins...thoughts |
Answer: | Hi! No, this is not false advertising. The listed ingredient is "Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate" which is different from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_lauryl_sulfate" and seems to be a point of differentiation for St. Ives. There are some blog posts if you perform a simple Google search which compare the two, but they seemed to be mostly lacking in substantive sources of evidence. I also looked on my university's research network and found very little on Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate. If you'd like to do more research though, here's a link to the EPA's website for information submitted as part of one of their programs: http://www.epa.gov/HPV/pubs/summaries/sdmlaurl/c14936tc.htm |
