Answer:	They will soften up I do throw mine in a laundry net bag and wash them frequently when they get soiled.

Answer:	Mine melted the first time I used them in the oven. I happened to touch the wire rack, so I guess 350 degrees Fahrenheit is too hot...

Answer:	The 16 inches is the measurement from tip to end. I bake a lot and always hit my arms on the hot oven racks- so I went with the 16” to cover more if my forearms. When you cook- you do not want tight mitts- you need to take them off quickly. The measurements are not for hand size- just length.

Answer:	Too much stiff for my liking. I don't want them for grilling - just for oven. Too stiff to safely handle glass pans. I may try washing them.

Answer:	I bought a pair a few months ago, and they're not insulated enough for me to handle the hottest things right from the oven for more than a few seconds. For example: I often broil steaks in a cast iron skillet, and I have to get it up and out of the oven a little too quickly. For 400 degree baking they seem ok, but fall short at extremely high temperatures.
Question:	Up to what temperature are these mitts suitable
Answer:	If you are using them to hold HOT items for more than a second or two you may feel it. If you plan on using them for a second I would say 350 400.
