Answer:	No, they cannot take direct heat. I googled the item a few days after ordering and was disappointed wit the answer. Now I google everything I order from Amazon. There is not always enough product info on Amazon.

Answer:	You can put it in the microwave after removing the metal lid pand strainer. 4 min on high heats a full pot of water to about 180deg. Handle is warm but not uncomfortable. Or boil water in a tea kettle and put into warmed pot. Decorative, if having tea for 2

Answer:	Marcia is correct - there is no lid included. The Tea Over Ice Gift set makes enough tea for two to enjoy in one sitting. You can cover with plastic wrap if you'd like but the tea is best enjoyed freshly steeped.

Question:	Can you drink the tea from the mug through the lid while the steeper is still in
Answer:	No its not made to do that. It's still a nice set though. You can rest the diffuser on the lid to keep it out of the way. Or you can leave the lid on to keep the heat in. Bit if you try to drink with the lid on it will dribble down your chin or fall off.
Question:	These cups are beautiful, but I was looking for a travel mug. The lid on this isn't on that you can drink from, is it
Answer:	This beautiful design is why I puchased this mug. It has a leaf strainer that hooks to the edge for loose tea leaves and the lid just sits with a hole to accomodate the strainer. Not a travel mug with a secure top at all.
Question:	Is it supposed to get hot? It looks to be double-walled, but the top part of mug gets really hot to hold
Answer:	My mug gets super hot only if I put it in the microwave. I never microwave it with the lid on. I assume that's what you were referring to as the "top part"? My mug never gets too hot to handle although, if it did, a coffee sleeve would be all that's needed to remedy the issue.

Answer:	Nothing on any of the pieces in my set indicates the country in which the set was made. I am pleased with the set, and it is holding up well, including in my dishwasher. No chipping at all, at least not yet.

Answer:	It's porcelain, so I wouldn't set the kettle on the stove. It works perfectly well when you put boiling water in it. It's not meant to replace a kettle, only to look cute on the table, which it certainly does.
