Answer:	I can only say for sure that it is "high grade stainless steel" but I can't say 18/10 for sure; but I can say for sure this is heavy duty and solidly built. Looks to me like 18/10 but all I could find before I bought it was high grade Stainless Steel. It does come with a tag and the directions tell you how to clean it if rust or mineral deposits form. I've not had a problem on a well with filtered water. Hope that helps.

No problem using 2 quarts of water in this kettle if you need larger amounts of boiling water for a recipe. Note: until the water level reaches about 1 qt. in the kettle there will be a "splash back" when pouring water. Be careful of this.Pour water then tip kettle upright slowly when done pouring to avoid larger splash backs and possible burns.

Answer:	While I didn't see any info in the manual; my direct measurement with a watt meter puts it around 1450W on initial power-on, then drops a bit (~1420W) as it warms up.

Answer:	As with the previous answer, I have no idea where the 7.4 oz comes from. The weight of the kettle bu itself is in the ballpark of 1.69 lb. The kettle with base comes in at more like 2.7 lb.
Question:	Can the kettle be used on a stove top or only on the electric warmer
Answer:	It cannot be used on a stove top. The bottom has electrical connectors recessed in plastic.
Question:	Why does it say to only use on medium heat
Answer:	On a gas stove, high heat would mean the flame ring would be coming up the sides of the kettle. That could damage the handle and make it too hot to touch.
Question:	After reaching the selected temperature, can it continue to read the temp as it drops? For my purposes I also need to see temp as it cools down
Answer:	The temperature does not drop unless you remove the pot. The heater will maintain the temperature you set. When you remove the pot, the temperature of the water will begin to drop and when you replace the pot on the heater, it will read the lower temperature but will begin to heat it back up to the temperature you set.

Answer:	I no longer have the packaging to check and couldn't see anything on the kettle, but according to google, the cast iron pieces (as this is ) are made in France; the ceramic ones (such as some small bowls I have) are made in Thailand.

Answer:	After the water boils and the pot whistles. turn the flame off and let sit for a few minutes before pouring the water. This is the only safe way to pour any water from any kettle!

Answer:	Yes, you can leave the spout open and avoid the whistle. I leave mine open, but have learned the hard way that I need to be in the room to avoid getting distracted by other things and letting it boil dry. It is a great product.

Question:	Does the handle get hot when you heat it up, needing to use a pot holder
Answer:	Ore-Ida frozen hash browns stick fiercely. Thawed, olive oil, olive oil and butter, seasoned pan, medium heat, all gave same result. On the other hand, eggs over-easy in butter did not stick at all. As an experiment, sanded mine in soapy water with 600, 1000, then 1500 grit sandpaper to see how the hash browns would respond. Same result. Product: 10" stainless steel fry pan w/lid.
Question:	Is this kettle made in America like the pots and pans
Answer:	Checking all clads own site they say that all of their bonded cookware is manufactured in the USA with US suppliers providing the metals. Since the stainless steel range is bonded I would assume the lid is also made in the USA. They do say that certain accessories and electirc appliances are made overseas but these are subject to rigorous testing according to the company.
Question:	How long does it take for the water to boil
Answer:	I called Allclad and they said the only difference is that the 41126 comes with a lid. The discrepancy in the height measurement is because the 4112 listing measures to the top of the handle while the 41126 listing measures only to the top of the pan. The rep at Allclad assured me that the pans are identical and that the promo price wouldn't last forever.
Question:	Where is this tea kettle made
Answer:	SS is a learning curve. But once you get it, it out performs, cast iron, carbon, etc. Lots of people are jumping on the "you can season your SS". Although it does work, its a complete waste of time and unnecessary. Once u learn to use SS properly, food will not stick and clean up is a breeze. Good luck and dont give up!

USE INSTRUCTIONS

Fill teakettle through large lid opening with a max of 2 Qt of water. Place the lid securely onto the teakettle, and be sure the whistle is closed when boiling. Use a burner with a diameter smaller than the teakettle base to prevent excess heat from making the handle too hot.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
