After +/- 9 uses, mine literally exploded, sending the boiling water and large pieces of glass to my chest and neck. FYI: It was on not the countertop, but on top of the microwave. I had noted a time or two prior, that there was a tiny air bubble in the side of the glass that WAS NOT VISIBLE or noticed unless the mug was hot. It was invisible when room temperature. Please keep this mug at a safe distance when filling and hopefully no one else will get burned or cut. BTW, this was not purchased through Amazon.

Answer:	If filled almost to the top (but who does?) around 8 ounces. If using a polite and safer amount of liquid...just under 8 ounces. There is another design by this company, it has a round shape and holds about 12 ounces (my favorite). Both mugs are pretty.
