14 best kyocera knife sharpener diamonds
Kyocera is a well-known manufacturer of high-quality ceramic knives and knife accessories. When it comes to their knife sharpeners with diamonds, they are designed to help maintain and restore the sharpness of Kyocera ceramic knives and other steel knives. Here's what you should know about Kyocera knife sharpeners with diamonds:
Diamond Abrasives: Kyocera knife sharpeners with diamonds use diamond abrasives in their sharpening mechanism. Diamond is one of the hardest materials known, making it highly effective for sharpening both ceramic and steel knife blades.
Versatility: While Kyocera is renowned for its ceramic knives, their diamond sharpeners can be used to sharpen a variety of knives, including stainless steel, high-carbon steel, and other blade materials. This versatility makes them a valuable addition to any kitchen.
Ease of Use: These sharpeners are designed for ease of use, typically featuring a simple and intuitive design. Many models have a two-stage sharpening process, with a coarse diamond wheel for sharpening and a fine diamond wheel for honing and finishing.
Safety: Kyocera knife sharpeners often come with safety features such as a non-slip base to prevent accidents during sharpening. Additionally, some models have a built-in angle guide to help maintain the correct sharpening angle.
Maintenance: Maintaining a sharp knife edge is essential for kitchen safety and precision. Regularly using a Kyocera diamond knife sharpener can help extend the life of your knives and reduce the risk of accidents in the kitchen.
Compact and Portable: Many Kyocera diamond sharpeners are compact and portable, making them easy to store in a kitchen drawer or take with you on camping trips or outdoor adventures where you might need to sharpen knives.
Durability: Kyocera products are known for their durability and longevity, and their knife sharpeners are no exception. The diamond abrasives should last a long time with proper use and care.
Cleaning: Cleaning these sharpeners is usually straightforward. They can be wiped clean with a damp cloth after use, ensuring that any metal filings or residue are removed.
Kyocera knife sharpeners with diamonds are designed to help you maintain the sharpness and performance of your knives, whether they are ceramic or steel. Keeping your knives sharp is not only more efficient for food preparation but also safer, as dull knives are more prone to slipping and causing accidents.Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper usage and maintenance of your Kyocera knife sharpener.

Kyocera Sharpening Solutions
Kyocera knives were designed for straight slicing and dicing of fruits, vegetables, and boneless meats. Steel knives should be used to cut hard, frozen or heavy rind type fruits because of the force and flex required to cut them. An advanced ceramic blade is so hard that it is not flexible, yet this hardness characteristic is what gives the blade its long-lasting sharpness.
For your convenience, we offer home sharpeners with diamond wheels, for maintaining this ultra-sharp cutting edge.

Question: | Is the DS-50 sharpener suitable for a FK-180BK ceramic knife |
Answer: | It retracts exactly as the picture shows with a bend in the middle and fits in a bottom of a laundry basket.. So total length when coiled is about 3 feet |
Question: | Where do you get replacement sharpening stones for this sharpener? The literature that came with mine said they were only available in Japan |
Answer: | I can get the hose onto my faucet but when I take it off the pressure of the water squirts out and I get wet. You might want to try to get an attachment with a smaller one end and a larger opening on the other end. You might want to go to Lowes or Home Depot and take the hose with you. |
Question: | Can this be used on the 3" pairing knife |
Answer: | Here is the manufacturer's statement in its entirety, from waterrightinc.com on its FAQ page, on June 26, 2014:"What does the recent www.healthychoice.com report on garden hose by Ecocenter.org mean?We spoke with Jeff Gearhart, the Research Director who was in charge of this study on 5-14-2013 and he supported our safety claim regarding our hose. He encouraged us to send anyone with concerns to their lab directly. http://www.healthystuff.org/contact.us.phpJeff Gearhart also recommends our polyurethane product and natural rubber hoses over other garden hoses in the industry. He specifically noted that the lead testing that is performed by their lab utilizes an x-ray devise which penetrates the chrome surface coating to determine the level of lead content in our brass. And yes, although there is lead inside the brass we use (which almost all brass fittings do and that we have always claimed), we specially plate our fittings with nickel and chrome to prevent our customers from coming in contact with any lead. An Independent lab called Bureau Veritas in Buffalo, NY, has also performed a surface coating test that shows our fittings meet drinking water safe applications. You will also be happy to know (based on our company's priorities to make only completely safe products), that we have been working on a producing a completely lead free fitting over the last 12 months (now that that brass alloy has recently become available by Chase Brass). The only unfortunate part of making this change is that the cost for lead-free brass is double the cost of regular 360 brass, which will possibly add between $4-5 retail to all of our hoses.Again, although we currently meet drinking water safe standards, it has been our top priority in 2013 to produce the safest garden hose in the industry. Water Right 100% lead-free fittings will be available by year end and will also be tested by a certified laboratory to ensure a completely lead and toxin free product.Jeff Thomas - President " |

Question: | What is the difference between black blade & white blade |
Answer: | The blade blade looks way cooler. :) From Kyocera website: "What is the difference between a black-HIP blade and a white blade?A black (HIP) blade is made out of a black zirconium oxide and offers extra durability. This type of blade goes through an extra firing process called a "hot-isostatic press," creating a tighter weave between the ceramic molecules, thus creating a tougher blade. The white ceramic blade is also made out of zirconium oxide but does not go through this expensive sintering process." |
Question: | How do you take care of these knives |
Answer: | We never put our knives in the dishwasher. We hand wash it and dry and we make sure to store it with the knife guard. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this sharpen scissors |
Answer: | I am not sure where to find replacement parts. I didn't keep my knife sharpener. I returned mine. I wasn't at all impressed with the product. |
Question: | Does this sharpener only sharpen to a 15 degree edge? Or can it do 20 also |
Answer: | You can buy ruixin stones on Amazon or eBay. You can buy aluminum backing plates on eBay. Use an epoxy to glue stones to backing plate. |
Question: | Will this knife sharpener sharpen small paring knife |
Answer: | I got fair results. Try it. Take your time. My knife has a very small recurve & I'm new to sharpening with a clamp in system since I got arthritis. I could not sharpen with this sharpener & slice paper so I got the KME with diamond stones & I'm very happy. Sold & sent all the chinese knock offs back. You can pick up a Lansky or Gatco system with diamond stones with a serrated stone about $80 almost as good as KME. Whatever you get Amazon has a pretty good return policy. |
Question: | Can I get replacement grinding stones for this sharpener |
Answer: | All are wet stones. Only issue is those mounted to the retention block. I soak the bare stones but only do a quick rinse with the mounted stones. The comments for dry use are usually just when doing the quick magic marker test. The residual water tends to wash away the color. |

Knives made of the finest steel will hold an edge longer, but even the best of knives dull with use- and the initial factory edge only lasts for the first few days or weeks of use.
Than for more than 99% of a knife's useful life, it's edge performance depends on how it is resharpened. Replicating the initial factory edge is not particularly relevant, especially since today's modern sharpeners can apply a better factory edge on every knife.

KYOCERA CERAMIC KNIVES AND KITCHEN TOOL SETS
These KYOCERA ceramic knife sets offer a great introduction to using Kyocera in the kitchen at a value. Once you experience the lightweight, ultra-sharp cutting edge during peeling fruits or slicing vegetables or boneless meats, you’ll find meal preparation fun and easy. These sets make a perfect gift for the new couple, home cook, professional chef, or cooking enthusiast.
Unrelenting Sharpness
Like diamonds and sapphires, the elements of ceramic are formed in nature through thousands of years of crystallization, extreme temperatures, and literally tons of pressure. The result is a pure, dense, unrelenting material that is 50% harder than steel and close to diamond in hardness. Kyocera advanced ceramic blades offer superior edge retention, holding their edge longer than traditional kitchen knives, including high carbon steel.
Unparalleled Purity
In addition to wear resistance, Kyocera advanced ceramic knives are chemically inert so foods look and taste the way they should. The smooth, polished surface resists germs and is impervious to acids, oils, and salts so cleaning up is easy to do, simply wash and let dry. Because they are ceramic, Kyocera knives and kitchen tools won’t brown foods, won’t transfer a metallic taste or smell, and will never rust.
Ultra Lightweight
Half the weight of traditional knives and kitchen tools, these products provide a new experience in cutting fruits and vegetables. Perfectly balanced and lightweight, Kyocera ceramic knives reduce fatigue during repetitive cutting tasks and make meal preparation easy and fun.
