Answer:	14" w/o light & 16" with the light...base about 1-1/8" beyond that.

Answer:	I called Marineland and they told me the only difference between the Portrait 5 gallon and the Contour 5 gallon is in the curvature of the lighting system. The lights themselves are identical (9 white LEDs and 6 blue LEDs). They also advised me that they are no longer making the Contour 5 gallon because except for the minor difference in the lighting structure they are exactly the same tank with the same filtration components. FWIW, I bought the 5 gallon Portrait and am very happy with it.

Answer:	Yes, any kind of filter media will work well with this. The canister has two partitions, one for the sponge which covers the intake pipe and another one for filter media. I filled mine with ceramic rings and am not using the carbon bag at all.

Answer:	There are two sliding parts with orange rimmed "buttons" on either side of the top. Press the orange buttons on and slide the mobile parts in opposite directions. There is a really good YouTube video from Zoo Med that shows how to open and set up the filter.

Answer:	Any of these canister will work for turtles. My red ear sliders are happy as can be. You just need to clean more often if you are feeding them live food vs. pellets (or if you over feed). I throw a powerhead on the bottom of the opposite side and corner of intake to keep the dead spots clean and water circulating.

Question:	Can the pump be replaced? How do I maintain it if it stops working
Answer:	What type of fish do you have in the tank? I have a Beta and I found the pump was to powerful so I don’t use it and my fish does fine! The light also stopped working immediately so that sucked...

Answer:	No and mine quit after about two weeks. Bettas can stand longer periods between water changes.
Question:	Is there a way to reduce the pump flow?- our fish doesn't seem to like the speed of the current
Answer:	I never could get the flow to adjust. Mine crapped out altogether. Betas don’t like water movement.
Question:	can this be used without the filter/pump
Answer:	It comes with a pump and filter but no heater. My pump quit working but the seller refunded my money. I have a Beta so a lone as your house stays above 70 should be fine. It is very attractive.

Question:	do you change the filter cartridges? Does not give instructions for this. Was not that easy to assemble and it is a little noisy
Answer:	Please see the manual that comes with the unit, or the information on our website. Change filter media when water flows excessively over top of cartridge. This varies for each application, depending upon fish load, temperature, plant life, etc. The unit does make some minor noise and should not be excessively loud. Please double-check any connections/set-up.
Question:	can you control the flow
Answer:	There is no built-in flow control on the 01105 EZ Clean External Aquarium Filter.
Question:	What is the flow rate

Answer:	the tank without water weights around 40lb. the fresh water weights around 8.3lb per gallons X 75 gallons around the weight of total salt water weights 8.6lb /gallon

Answer:	Many
Question:	Approximately how many fish can it hold, were its not overcrowded for them
Answer:	The way with any fish tank to figure out how many fish can it hold is 1” of fish for each gallon. So if you have 75 1” fish that would be fine. Or have 10 7” fish that would be fine.
Question:	I was asking about bulbs, not lights. If I need stronger for reef, do I need new bulbs or a whole new fixture
Answer:	This tank only came with LED light strips, no bulbs. If you need stronger for reef, you may need to DIY them.

Answer:	Yes a purchases more pellets balls and the sponge material but I bought in bulk I just did my first water change rinsed the sponge I. The filter water as well as the balls snd the charcoal pellets. Will not need to replace until 6-9 months from now so all good
