9 best tagine pot for cooking
A tagine pot, often referred to simply as a tagine, is a unique and versatile cookware item commonly used in North African and Middle Eastern cuisine. It is known for its distinctive conical shape and is used for slow-cooking a wide variety of dishes. Here's what you need to know about tagine pots:
Design: A tagine pot consists of two parts - a circular base and a tall, cone-shaped lid. The lid is designed to trap steam and condensation, allowing it to circulate back into the dish. This design helps to keep the food moist and flavorful.
Materials: Tagine pots are traditionally made from clay or ceramic. However, modern versions may be made from cast iron or other materials. The choice of material can impact the cooking process and the flavors of the dish.
Cooking Method: Tagines are primarily used for slow cooking. Ingredients are placed in the base of the pot, and the dish is cooked over low heat for an extended period. This gentle, slow-cooking method allows the flavors to meld together and results in tender, flavorful dishes.
Versatility: Tagine pots are incredibly versatile and can be used to prepare a wide range of dishes, including stews, soups, braises, and even certain types of baked goods. Popular tagine recipes often feature a combination of meats, vegetables, fruits, and a variety of aromatic spices.
Flavorful Spices: Tagine dishes are known for their bold and aromatic flavors. Common spices and ingredients used in tagine cooking include cumin, coriander, cinnamon, saffron, ginger, dried fruits (such as apricots and dates), and preserved lemons.
Serving: Tagines are not only used for cooking but are also used for serving. The pot's unique design makes it an attractive and functional serving vessel, adding an element of authenticity to the presentation of the dish.
Maintenance: Care for a tagine pot typically involves seasoning if it's made of clay or ceramic, and proper cleaning to prevent cracking or damage. Cast iron tagines may require seasoning like other cast iron cookware.
Traditional and Modern Varieties: Traditional tagine pots are still widely used in North Africa and the Middle East. However, there are now modern variations available that are designed to be used on a variety of stovetops, including gas, electric, and induction.
Cultural Significance: Tagines are not just cookware; they also hold cultural significance. They are often associated with communal and celebratory meals in the regions where they are traditionally used.
In summary, a tagine pot is a unique and versatile piece of cookware known for its conical shape, slow-cooking capabilities, and ability to infuse dishes with flavorful spices. It is widely used in North African and Middle Eastern cuisine and is prized for its ability to create tender and aromatic dishes.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is there anything not made in china |
Answer: | Thank you for your question on the L'Oreal Paris Preference #70P. This is a dark lilac opal blonde shade. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Thank you for choosing L'Oreal. |
Question: | Is this lead free, ptfe and pfoa free |
Answer: | Hi there- Thank you for your interest in our Superior Preference Haircolor in the shade Chic Auburn Brown. This will permanently dye your hair a warm red brown shade. |
Question: | Where is this tagine made |
Answer: | We sell this item and the picture of the women on the box is the color it "suppose" to make your hair look like. However like any hair color results could vary slightly from what the women looks like on the box. |
Question: | Is tagine dishwasher safe |
Answer: | If you add conditioner or water to the dye it will cover more and you will need to use less boxes. I have been doing this for 30 years. I figured it out after years of using 2 boxes. Now I only use 1 box |
Question: | CAn you put it directly over fire or does it need a some sort of tray |
Answer: | Buy a good purple shampoo -- Paul Mitchell makes a great one for platinum blondes. Let the shampoo sit on your roots for a good 20 minutes. If you want a slightly more complex longer lasting solution, buy Wella T18 Beige toner and Volume 10 Developer. Mix 1 part toner with 2 parts developer, apply to roots, let sit 8-15 minutes. The last two minutes get a little wet and run through the ends of your hair. After 2 minutes rinse well with a very light shampoo. Condition well! |
Question: | Is the inside of the Tagine glazed? Also, does it have a vent hole on the lid |
Answer: | I'm 45 and my natural hair is brown with a lot of white hair around my temple and this hair color colors the white and brown parts very well. I do leave it on for 40 minutes. This color looks very much like the color of my hair when I was a young girl so it looks very natural for me. The lighter parts of your hair will look pretty much like the color on the box which gives a natural highlighted effect, while the brown parts will be slightly darker than the box, giving it a slightly warm tone. I think it looks very good with my brown eyes and skin tone. I think it's usually better to go with a color that is a little bit lighter than what your natural hair color was when you were in your 20s and 30s. Some darker colors can look a little harsh against fair skin as you age. If you have previously dyed your hair with a darker hair color than this, then you will have to buy a product to remove the darker color before you use this, otherwise you won't achieve the color that you're looking for. |
Question: | The description here does not state if the Tagines glaze is free of Lead and Cadmium |
Answer: | Iâm a former hairstylist (now stay at home mom). This color will not lift. Meaning it has no peroxide/bleach to lighten hair which makes it deposit only. So if you use âblonde colorâ on medium or even dark hair, it will not get any lighter, it will only add color, tone, or depth to your hair. So if you used a champagne blonde, which is usually cool with gold undertones, it would neutralize some orange/red tones in your hair and thatâs about it. If you want blonde hair, no box of hair color is going to do that. You have to use a hair lightening kit of some kind. Be it a âhighlighting kitâ, âbleaching kitâ, or âhair lightening kitâ etc. it must have powdered bleach, AND developer, in order to effectively lighten hair at all. If ever thereâs a time to go to a professional, itâs got lightening services. Someone without a really good grasp on technique can seriously damage their own hair with bleach, and I used to tell my friends and clients, if you think highlights are expensive, wait until you have to post for a color correction. I hope that helps, thereâs TOTALLY NOTHING WRONG with coloring at home, just do as much research as possible, watch YouTube videos, etc and be 100% sure of what youâre using before you touch your hair. Also, if you order online or even buy box dye from target or Walmart etc...check that the bottles inside match the color description and numbers described on the outside of the box. I recently saw a video on YouTube of this jerky dude taking the box of black hair dye and a box of blonde hair dye and swapping the color bottle from each. He resealed the boxes and put them back on the shelf sometimes it is very difficult to tell what color youâre going to end up with based off of just the way the bottles look, because they often oxidize once mixed, so if someone bought that bottle of blonde dye they wouldâve ended up with black hair and it wouldâve been way too late by the time they realized it! So be careful! Good luck! |

Product description
This is a 100% LEAD FREE Cooking Tagine, it is handmade and handcrafted , simple and functional. "A tajine (tah-zheen) is a North African dish (Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia) as well as a special pot for preparing this dish. The traditional tajine pot is formed entirely of a heavy clay which is sometimes painted or glazed. It consists of two parts; a bottom which is flat and circular with low sides, and a large cone or dome shaped cover that rests inside of the bottom during cooking. The cover is so designed to promote the return of all condensate to the bottom. With the cover removed, the bottom is open and shallow for easy serving at the table." "Tajines dishes are slow cooked at low temperatures, resulting in tender, falling-off-the-bone meat with aromatic vegetables and sauce. The cover has a knob-like formation at its top to facilitate removing it. While simmering, the cover can be lifted off without the aid of a mitten, enabling the cook to inspect the main ingredients, add vegetables, move things around, or add additional braising liquid, if needed." Please note that as our items are handcrafted and handmade, each is unique and may slightly differ. This type of Tagines is made in a traditional oven and as such has areas without glaze. It also will have a few other minor "imperfections". This is normal and an expected part of Tagines made in the traditional way.

Question: | Does the material contain lead |
Answer: | 367,000 |
Question: | What are the measurements of this or the volume it holds? Thank you |
Answer: | Never had any of mine cut off after 15 minutes. Unless you are boiling over your cook pot & smothering your fire, you have a gas supply problem. Try another supply tank, you may have a faulty tip over valve inside the tank. Also, replace your regulator. That may be causing an interruption in your fuel supply. |
Question: | what is the diameter |
Answer: | It would have to be a pretty wide pot. My pot is stainless steel and 18 in. wide. I believe it will work fine if your pot is wide enough. |

Simple and functional, this authentic, handcrafted Moroccan cooking Tagine is ready to be used for your next flavorful and exotic Moroccan meal. The Tagine is to be use on the top of electrical or glass stove or inside the stove. If you have a gas stove with flames please use a protective metal piece to protect your Tagine from cracking. HOW TO CURE A TAGINE? It is necessary that it is seasoned before initial use. Please follow these simple instructions below for maximum results: 1. WATER: The new tagine needs to be first submerged in water for at least 1 hour. If you canât submerge it, place it in a clean sink bowl and slowly fill the base of the tagine with water until it stops absorbing it. Place the tagine lid on top and fill it as well. Let stand for 30 minutes to allow full absorption of water into the clay. Empty excess water and set to dry for 5 minutes. 2. OLIVE OIL: All you need is 3 table spoons of olive oil, 2 for the base and one for the lid. Spread the olive oil throughout the base and lid with your hand. 3: HEAT: While the tagine is still wet with the oil applied to it, place it in the oven as shown in the first or second photos, and set temperature at 350 F and leave for 45 minutes. The evaporation of moisture creates a vacuum effect to pull the olive oil into the clay which glazes and seals it. User questions & answers
Question: | Is the this Tanging safe to cook on stove top |
Answer: | I bought it for frying turkeys and because I cook a lot of them and hoped the stainless would hold up better. Itâs not as strong of a flame as an older bayou classic I have. It did get up to temp and maintain but not as quick as even my cheap Walmart clearance cooker. Iâm going to experiment with regulators and jets to see if I can make it work better. Bottom line, if itâs not freezing outside and windy, this will work for you. If youâre cooking in a cold environment it may take all it has to offer just to get up to temp. |
Question: | How to use it with glass top electric stove |
Answer: | Hooking it up requires a couple of wrenches. Lighting it is very easy you just turn on the gas and I use a long butane fireplace style lighter so I don't get burned. It's designed to heat a large pot of boiling water are oil for deep frying turkeys or cooking very large amounts of food. |
Question: | Point blank, yes or no is this tagine lead free |
Answer: | We do not sell a cover for this cooker. Thanks |
Question: | Is the tagine lead free |
Answer: | i do not know what you mean about windscreen, but there is a metal band around burner. hope this helps? |
