Answer:	Mine has a black bottom and no alarm. Although it shut off, because I expected an alarm (like that the one i had previously) I didn’t notice when it had finished. The eggs stayed in it too long and were rubbery with greyish yolks. I’ll use it again and have to monitor its cooking time which is incovenjent
Question:	WHY do you have to poke a hole in the top of egg when hard boiling? If the egg bubbles out the hole, what's the purpose
Answer:	It's important to poke the hole into the fat end of the egg. This is because each egg has an air pocket at this end. And set the egg into the tray with the hole up so that this sulphury air can properly escape. You're venting the nasty stuff that you don't want infusing into the egg. Venting makes the eggs look great and taste great. Just remember, wide-end up.
Question:	Does this item have an automatic shut off
Answer:	Mine (the stainless steel with "No Alert" option) shuts off automatically. I've noticed that it will cut back on if left alone for several minutes, though. I guess the water drips back down from the dome and the sensor thinks it's time to cook again. Since that happened, I try to flip the switch off right after they're done.

Answer:	This is not a portable electric heater, it is designed to be permanently installed and comes with no wires. I bought the thermostat they recommend and installed it. You could wire a chord to it and plug it into a wall outlet if you buy the 120 Volt model. Be careful some require 240 volt power, just make sure you buy the right one.
Question:	Is it okay to cook only 1 egg, it won't tip over will it
Answer:	Actually the description says thermostat included: No. You have to buy a thermostat that goes on the face of the heater separately. The amazon posting generally shows the thermostat as an item typically paired with the heater.

Answer:	Depends on a lot of factors, especially insulation but assuming its well insulated I'd say a 10x10 room would be a max size. It's more of a supplementary heat than a main heater... unless you're heating a dog house! ;)

Question:	I cooked my eggs on high for 8 min using a 1250 w microwave and they were only soft boiled!! The top does not make a snap sound. Is it defective
Answer:	My micro is 1000 w & at 8 min my eggs exploded. There was still water in the bottom well but the eggs simply exploded blowing off the lid & eggs went everywhere. The yolks that I could find intact all seemed to be fully cooked; but I also has grain sized yolk all over the inside of my micro. Haven't used it since.

Answer:	8",is the height with the lid on, 16" is the measurement around the egg. This egg is large. If you can imagine an ostrich egg, it looks just like one. I was amazed at its size.

Answer:	the directions are meaningless, I have an 1100 watt microwave and must cook the eggs for 12 minutes just to get medium boiled, haven't tried hard boiled. Do not follow the directions, experimentation is key.

Answer:	Yes, I put mine in the dishwasher regularly without any issue. This works great and super simple to make soft-boiled eggs quickly and conveniently (without the mess of pans).

Question:	Can I soft cook one egg at a time in this
Answer:	The yolk is enclosed in a thin membrane. If you don't pierce the membrane before placing the cooker in the microwave, it will explode when the yolk expands as it is heated and breaks the membrane. Also, the longer eggs sit in the package, the less centered the yolk will be. If you are using farm fresh eggs, piercing the yolk with the enclosed pin will be less predictable. When I use fresh eggs, I use a hat pin to pierce them just to be on the safe side. Store-bought eggs are usually about three weeks old so the yolk is closer to the shell and can be easily pierced according to the directions.

Answer:	I have not had a lot of steam . Maybe you have to much water in the chicken. I also think 8min is too long for hard boiled eggs I use ex large eggs and have found 7 and a half min is long enough. Good luck. With no directions it is hard to figure.

Question:	Does this have automatic shut off
Answer:	I have one and the aluminum insert got all black from the dishwasher. Going to buy a new one and hand wash it. It works great. On my low wattage microwave 10-11 minutes is perfect for hard boiled eggs. Haven't tried soft boiled eggs.

Answer:	I have used it several times, at the 4, 5, and 6 minute times for soft medium and harder cooked eggs. My microwave is strong--1000w output. Never had any explosion or even boil over of water. You will need oven mitts to take it from the microwave, and I generally run cold water over eggs for a few seconds before I peel. But everything has worked just fine for me. And eggs come out perfect.

Answer:	Yes. I've cooked one or two eggs with no problem. Cooking time is pretty much the same as four eggs, although the time given in the directions is too short. This device steams the eggs, which takes about the same amount of time as boiling. It's much more convenient, though.
Question:	How long should soft boiled egg take
Answer:	I do 11 mins on high for 4 eggs..,and just eyeball the water to about 1/2way up the bottom. Then immediately Blount the cooked hot eggs in a bowl with ice water. Be careful..chicken gets hot when eggs are done! I love mine!

Answer:	There is an omelette tray with most and you can add items that either don't need cooked to eat or are already cooked and cooled. It won't look like a "normal" omelette; it'll be flat and round. You could use a fork to flip one side if you want after it's on a plate.
