I toasted a slice of bread and put a slice of hard salami on it microwaved it for 15-20 seconds and dropped the poached egg on top and everyine was wild about it. I love this thing. It takes about 3-4 minues to make the poached eggs. I get it boiling on high and then turn my range down to #2 setting which is medium low. As soon as the egg top whitens up it is about done.

Answer:	I have only had mine for a short time, however the non stick coating is made of a quality material and if you hand wash them after each use I believe they should last for quite some time. I do spray a little Pam on mine before using. The eggs slide very easy either way.

Answer:	I always make sure that the water level is high enough to contact the botton 1/4" of each cup.

Answer:	The cooking time on the eggs depends on how you like your eggs. I prefer mine in an 'easy' state. Runny yolks, mostly white with little or no translucent surrounding. For that I bring the water to a slow boil, put the eggs in the cups and cook for 4 1/2 minutes. My ex liked hers cooked for 6 minutes so the yolk was mostly solid and absolutely no jiggle from the white.

Answer:	I was going to ask the same question on this product. To answer others question why...to cook both the rice and the eggs at the same time (boiled not poached). I'm hoping I can use it in a pan while cooking my mexican rice.

Answer:	The metal legs don't move when you put it in the pan so I wouldn't think it would scratch as long as you are careful. The edges are of the rack are smooth. I use it in a regular pan so I can't say for certain.

Answer:	I have not had any accumulation, except when I lift the lid, and hold it at a tilt over an egg, and water drips down the lid, which, by the way it says not to do in the instructions. When you lift your lid, hold it level until you get it away from the cooking pot. It should only take four or five tries to get this technique down.

Let it float in the water, (keep the gap between the Poacher’s bottom and the pot 5-10 mm or 1/4”), and cover the pot with a lid. To get a soft egg, cook it for 5-7 minutes, hard poached - 8-10 minutes. When poached in the water, the egg white will start cooking first, then the yolk: change the cook time depending on how cooked you'd like the yolk to be. Heating up in the microwave will cook the yolk first, so it could explode even before the egg white is cooked. This is how a microwave works. Thus, we would recommend cooking scrambled eggs or omelettes, if you prefer using the microwave for it. If you would like to make poached eggs in the microwave please follow as per below. If using a 1000 watt microwave (typically used in households): cook one egg at 20% power for 3 minutes. Please do not increase power, because the yolk will explode. Do not place the egg in the middle of the turn table: this will help the egg white to be cooked more evenly. For two eggs, use 40% power, for 3 - 60%, and so on. Keep the poachers covered. Add cook time as needed. Moving a spoon around the egg edge helps removing it from the egg poacher.

Answer:	It took us a couple practices to get hang of using cups. Use lid, cook a bit longer, and sometimes gentle knife to separate cook from cup. Not perfect, but better than other ways to poach. Good Luck.

Answer:	The bottom of these cups have a circular ridge on them all 6 should fit in your pan without the holder that comes with it. The cups are free standing. So whether you want 2, 4, or 6 eggs poached they will stand up good . Water level should be no more than 2/3 up on the side of the cups and a slight book not a rolling one. And, yes I still love mine.
