Question:	How to measure the pressure when using for canning
Answer:	There is no way to check, but this does have to pressure settings. The spring valve mechanism that our units have work differently than a traditional dial or weighted valve that most pressure canners have. The pressure is not adjustable, but it is entirely self-regulated to reach and maintain either the 15 (high) or 8 (low) PSI until the user releases it.

Answer:	No, but hot air/smoke does come out from the back. So I place it under a hood to vent and you want to keep the back away from things that don't like heat. It is basically an oven so the heat and the smoke from the food have to come up some how. However because it is generally much tightly enclosed, the heat is better trapped inside for cooking, which is one of the reasons why this things is more efficient than an oven.

Question:	Does it have wifi feature
Answer:	The answer someone gave that they cooked a pot roast and vegetables in one hour is questionable. Perhaps if the meat was cut into very thin slices, it could work, though it’s doubtful that hard vegetables like carrots & potatoes would be done. In a slow cooker, the “high” temperature is still very low at 300°. For tender meat, especially large pieces like pot roast, and hard vegetables, you must cook it several hours on high or many hours on low (or a combination of both high and low). The high setting for 1 1/2 to 2 hours is equivalent to 15-30 minutes in a moderate (350°) oven. I’ve used slow cookers for 30 years. They are not fast, as their name implies!
Question:	Does the instant pot max have usda approval for pressure canning
Answer:	If it helps any, I have a Nesco Roaster & the inner pot to it is lightweight & ceramic coated. It roasts & cooks some of the best pork, beef, poultry. I'm reading up on the newest Instant Pot releases myself. I like this Aura & also the Gem but would like to know the maximum pound size these take. The only reason I'm looking to replace the Nesco with an IP roaster is to have better temperature setting. Nesco has a knob with far too much 'play' in the turn. I want more precise roast setting ability.
Question:	Does it sterilize
Answer:	131 is the golden number. I cooked a turkey breast at 131 after injecting it with a spicy butter garlic mix for 24 hours. I cook all my steaks at 131 for 4 hours and my chicken the same... that is the magic number for at least 4 hours but turkey and pork are 24+ hours. For the turkey breast, I filled the bag with oil so the temperature would distribute evenly in the bag. As long as you get all the air out.
Question:	Is it usda approved for canning
Answer:	To help clean it if you have a hard mess. Put 4 cups of water in the pan and set it on the steam function for 15 or so minutes.

Answer:	It releases the pressure without any noice. But with your hand, you turn the cap to the outside direction.

Answer:	Happened to me also, remove the sealing ring, make sure it is completely dry along with the lid, dry. Then flip the sealing ring over so that the wider side of sealing ring is on the bottom where it will seat with the cooking pot. That should do the trick.

Hi recently bought this and my husband washed it in dishwasher and it has turned white and also steel. Can i still cook rice in it

Answer:

There is no need to panic. The Cooker has to release the extra steam gathered inside. So, it does whistle and release the steam from the outlet thru valve. At the same time, you should know how long you need to let Cook the item, otherwise the cooked item will overflow or stuck at the bottom and blacken the base of cooker. There should be a manual inside the box explaining the procedure. Depending on the time required for item to be cooked, it whistles one/two/three times after the interval of 1-2 minutes.You can gain experience by shutting off your Stove after the first big whistle, and take the cooker aside and then put the stick in the top whole of VALVE and slowly pull up a little bit, to let the remaining steam come out gently.. you can do this 4-5 times to take the whole steam out.I always put some water in the Cooker and put the items in the container, lock it up properly with the ring inside the handle, put the valve at the top and then put the cooker on stove for 5-15 minutes depending on the items. Again, if you are not sure how long to cook, please use the above method to gain some experience.MAKE SURE YOU ARE AROUND WHEN YOU HAVE BEEN USING COOKER :)Hope this helps.
