Answer: Of course you can separate the pot from the base. Just make sure you remove the plug first and then kind of slide it out at an angle. When putting it back on, make certain you hear the snapping click to ensure that it is truly stable before cooking in it again.

Answer: It is purely stainless steel so there is no coating to wear off. That said, there is a technology I don't pretend to understand, which is designed to distribute the heat evenly. I think this creates the textures that make some places shinier than others. You can feel the texture with your hands or with a cooking tool. That is a layman's guess. The manufacturer needs to answer that question and I'd like to hear it too.

Answer: Yes the purchase includes a steaming plate but I have not used it. That said I love this product and should anything happen to it I would purchase another. I cook from scratch and steamwith a pan specifically for steaming. I am sure this product would do well. Hope this helps...

Answer: Yes, the sliding dial goes from keep warm, 280F thru 480F. If you are cooking at a higher temp it does take time to cool down enough to just keep the food warm. I usually just turn the unit off a little before I remove the food. It takes a while to cool down especially if lid is left on.

Answer: I suggest go with the EP-RAC50. These pans were well made and worth every dollar you invest. Answer: I have used electric and gas woks. On my stove top, the gas did not get hot enough to work properly. I don't think the sides heated up well with gas. I have not had this problem with good quality electric woks.

Needless to say, this can't be done when the wok is still hot, and it is messy if you don't remember to remove all the food in the wok before you up-end it! To re-assemble after washing the bowl, put the bowl face down on the counter, fit the base over the connection points and turn the plastic dial to lock.

I think that proposition 65 has something to do with lead but after testing as far as I can find there has not been lead detected. Now just so you know, all I have read, if you burn any pan they all release dangerous toxins. I researched this when I owned exotic birds. Hope this helps!
