2 best chef pans with helper handles

Chef pans with helper handles are a type of cookware that is commonly used in kitchens for a variety of cooking tasks. These pans are designed to make cooking more convenient and efficient. Here's what you need to know about chef pans with helper handles:

  1. Design: Chef pans are characterized by their wide, flat bottoms and high, sloping sides. This design allows for even heat distribution and provides ample space for tossing, stirring, and flipping ingredients. The addition of helper handles, typically one on each side, makes it easier to lift and maneuver the pan, especially when it's full of food.

  2. Materials: Chef pans with helper handles are often made from materials like stainless steel, aluminum, or nonstick-coated materials. Each material has its own advantages and is suitable for different cooking techniques.

  3. Versatility: These pans are versatile and can be used for a wide range of cooking tasks, including sautéing, searing, frying, and braising. Their design makes them ideal for dishes that involve tossing and stirring ingredients, such as stir-fries and pasta dishes.

  4. Helper Handles: The presence of helper handles is a notable feature. These additional handles, typically smaller and on the opposite side of the main handle, provide extra support when lifting or tilting the pan. They are especially useful when the pan is heavy or filled with food.

  5. Heat Distribution: Chef pans are designed to distribute heat evenly across the cooking surface, preventing hot spots and ensuring that food cooks uniformly. This is important for achieving consistent results in your dishes.

  6. Nonstick Options: Some chef pans come with nonstick coatings, which make cooking and cleaning easier.Nonstick pans are particularly suitable for recipes that involve delicate foods like fish or eggs.

  7. Maintenance: Proper care and maintenance are essential to prolong the lifespan of chef pans. Depending on the material, you may need to season, hand wash, or use specific utensils to preserve the pan's quality.

  8. Size: Chef pans are available in various sizes to accommodate different cooking needs. Smaller pans are suitable for individual portions or smaller dishes, while larger ones are ideal for family meals or larger gatherings.

  9. Brand Options: Many reputable cookware brands offer chef pans with helper handles, each with its own design, features, and price points. Some well-known brands include All-Clad, Calphalon, and T-fal.

In summary, chef pans with helper handles are versatile cookware items that are well-suited for a wide range of cooking techniques. Their design, materials, and even heat distribution make them a valuable addition to any kitchen, whether you're a professional chef or a home cook. User questions & answers

Question: Can this go in oven
Answer: Yes it can. I bought this pan for that exact reason. I have put it in a 425 degree oven.
Question: Does it stay flat over time? I have another Al skillet the same size and over time time the center raised up making it impossible to cook evenly
Answer: I got the 733-30H 5 1/2 quart pan. Both it and the 3 1/2 quart pan is stainless steel not aluminum. Yes the bottom stays straight unless it is severely over heated as in left on a high burner with nothing in it. I did have a stainless pan destroyed that way. It boiled dry and was left.
Question: What is the dimentions of each size
Answer: The fry pan is 12 inches inside and 3 inches deep. It is nice and heavy with a heat sink plate on the bottom. Very nice glass lid. The dual handles work great and don't get as hot as most skillets. Each time we clean the skillet I heat it up and use olive oil to cure the stainless to keep it from sticking. Over all it is worth the money. Hope this helps. Jimmy Fielding
Question: does it transfer heat on induction stove top
Answer: I just got this pan and it is great1 Although I do not have an induction stove top the box states it works on induction tops. I also include a pic of the pan with refrigerator magnets stuck to the bottom to show that it is magnetic! Maybe older versions did not I don't know but this current version does!

User questions & answers

Question: I know this pan won't work with an induction cooktop, but will this work with an induction converter plate
Answer: I don't know why not. Had to look up what a converter plate was. But I don't see why it wouldn't. It is a frying pan.
Question: Does it have 18/10 stamped on the skillet to assure it is 18/10 as the "12 skillet
Answer: no, i don't see 18/10 stamped anywhere on the skillet. the stamp on the bottom just says the following: Cuisinart MODEL #722-22 SKILLET 9' (22cm) STAINLESS STEEL V#17882 0313. i hope that is helpful, but no 18/10 sorry.
Question: Is this made USA
Answer: It does NOT say where it is made. So that means it's not made in China. But not likely made in the USA, as that is normally a point of marketing pride. The Cuisinart website says in some places that their products are "Made in France". See: https://www.cuisinart.com/products/cookware-comparison.html
Question: What is the actual bottom cooking surface measurement of this 14" pan
Answer: The bottom is 7 1/2 inches. This is the cooking surface. My answer is wrong ! I bought 2 skillets and I measured the smaller one. The bottom of the 14" is 12". Sorry for confusion.
Question: can you make an omelete and pancakes with it
Answer: Yes you can. It works fantastic. It is a bit big for an omlet pan, but it does work for a larger omlet. This is one of the best pans I've had in a long time. I'll most likely get more.
Question: Is 12" the bottom measurement or across the top
Answer: It is 12" across the top. It is rounded on the sides and only about 1.5" deep, so it does not hold as much as the 12" skillet I was replacing. It is great, as nothing seems to stick to it!
Question: Is this cookware PFOA free
Answer: The Cuisanart 622-30G 12” skillet I received comes with a removable sticker label on the inside nonstick coating that says QuanTanium by Whitford. The Whitford website states cookware is “Our PFOA-free coatings, specifically designed for use in the Cookware market...” The QuanTanium coating fact sheet states ”PTFE, made without PFOA”.
Question: Is the pan induction ready
Answer: No it is not. The pan is made out of aluminum, which is not a ferrous metal. Induction cooktops require using cookware that a magnet will stick on. Cast iron and carbon steel pans are the natural cookware choices. Stainless steel pans have to be made with 18/0(zero) steel to be compatible. All other cookware metals require a thin layer of 18/0 stainless steel on the base of the pan for them to work on an induction stove.
