Answer:	No it does not have auto shutoff. You cannot tell from the box or the manual (since the manual is generic and covers a large number of models). I called the manufacturer. They said if you cannot see a clock on the front of the coffee maker, then it won't have an auto shutoff. I sent it back since I know I will often forget to shut it off.

Answer:	You use kiln dried pine pellets(I have no idea any these specific pellets) in tandem with ONE bag of Breeze pellets, they are SUPPOSED to crumble into sawdust when the cat pees, you just use the scoop to move the pellets around, it takes 2 seconds and goes through the grate to the pads which aren't Breeze pads, they're large puppy pads with a bigger specific type cat litter box underneath, not the breeze system pan with tiny pads. If you used that system you'd be spending a fortune. It's really so simple and does not stink. I only keep a bag of Breeze pellets in the box to dry the poop before I scoop it. I don't need a refill of those for at least 6-8 months and a 4olb bag of KILN DRIED PINE PELLETS (that's very important) are $5 and they last me a year. Search for the video of how to put it together and how it works on YouTube (breeze /pine pellet system) if you're not able to use it, you're doing something wrong. Saves so much time and money.

Answer:	I agree. Why have a choice of 1-4 cups? If you put 2 cups of water it’ll brew 2 cups. It would be nice for me if I could fill the water up to 12 cups and brew 2 cups a day for several days. You’d just have to add new coffee not water. I’m considering buying this machine but I’m not sure how long the coffee will stay hot. I have a Mr coffee now and it only stays hot about an hour.

Answer:	This does not have a water filter.( Cuisinart brand do have a filter as well as some Mr Coffee FYI ).Water source makes a big difference on taste. Try it with another water source and test for yourself.

Answer:	The water gets hot enough but we had trouble with the lid flow valve sticking closed. At times the coffee would not flow through into the pot and would run over on the counter & floor. Had to make sure the valve in the top was open when assembling for brewing in the morning. Seemed like the valve would stick easily. I returned our coffee maker because it ran over twice.

Answer:	It froths the milk first and then makes the espresso. However you only have to push one button. When you choose cappucino or latte, you just place the cup on the machine and it will first send frothed milk into your cup and then add the espresso. It is very user friendly.

Answer:	Yes. The machine will automatically stop running when the brewing and foaming cycle finishes, however the rear power button must be turned off manually. It is not necessary to turn off the machine, but I personally do. This one of the best espresso machines that I have tried. My family uses it 2-4 times a day. It works perfect every time.

Answer:	While it won't make a "regular" cup of coffee you can use it to make Cafe Americano (Espresso and hot water) to make something very like a cup of coffee. I make Americano pretty regularly and it does a good job.

Answer:	It's amazing to me to see comments on anything but what is exactly described within this link for the DCC-3200P1. No, this isn't the DCC-3400. Yes, it has a glass carafe. The description says so in three places. Nowhere does the description mention a stainless carafe - NOWHERE. The photos show glass (I agree two of them have what looks to be coffee brewed, but at least one photo clearly shows an empty GLASS carafe.

Answer:	Yes you can pour a cup of coffee before it is totally finished brewing. It does not drip. Once you return carafe it just finishes filling. There is no problem with a drip. Per the instructions. It tells you it is ok to do and it works perfectly

Answer:	Taste: Coffee in the 3200 is more flavorful. A new machine might be expected to be better, but I think they've gotten the flow and temperature of the brewing process better.Temperature: The brewed coffee is much hotter. Both units have three temperature settings for the hot plate, but the settings on the 3200 are hotter.Size and Capacity. The 3200 handles 14 cups compared to the 1200's 12 cups. Yet as you can see from the photos, they are the same height to fit on a counter. They seem to get the extra capacity by making the 3200 a little deeper from front to back. We've been surprised at how useful the extra capacity is.Carafe: The new glass carafe is just like the old one, only larger. It pours nicely with or without the lid on it. The new lid works the same as the old one, popping off and on. (I read some complaints about the lid on an intervening model with a spring opening, but if so, they fixed that by going back to the 1200 style).As far as I can tell, there isn't a version of the 3200 designed for a thermal carafe like there is for the 12-cup models. I prefer the glass carafe because it keeps the coffee hotter longer, and I can always pour the coffee into a thermal carafe if I want to.Water Filling. The bigger size also increases the size of the water fill hole. The lid on the top of the 3200 unit raises to 90 degrees straight up, where the lid on the 1200 tilted further back and out of the way. Still the 3200 is easier to fill, and I suspect that the restriction on the tilt may help preserve the integrity of the hot water tube.Sneak a Cup. Taking out the carafe to sneak a cup during brewing worked great on the 1200 with little dripping, and still does on the 3200.Basket. The basket on the 3200 is very similar to the 1200, but a slightly different shape to accommodate more grounds for 14 cups. Actually, grounds just barely fit with a 4 cup paper filter in the new basket, and sometimes go above the filter in the basket. The basket actually seems more designed for the included gold filter.Water filter. The 3200 uses the exact same carbon filters and filter holder as the 1200, but the holder seems to fit more snugly in its hole, which may help prevent clogging (see below)Beep. The 3200 allows you to turn of the coffee-ready beep if you want.Controls. Controls on the 3200 are a little easier. The 3200 uses all push buttons with no switches. Separate hour and minute settings make it a little easier to program and set the clock. There is a new "Bold" setting which does indeed seem to result in stronger coffee. There is still a setting for smaller, 1-4 cup pots, but I never use that. You can still set the hot plate to stay hot for up to 4 hours, which is important to me. There is a fairly bright blue glow from the LED display on the 3200.Cleaning. There was a sensor button on the hot plate of the 1200 that's gone on the 3200, so the plate stays cleaner. The extra stainless steel looks good on the 3200 but probably shows smudges more and might benefit from special cleaner fluids.Coffee Grounds Overflowing and Clogging. This was the biggest problem before, and I don't know if it's fixed, but it seems better. On the 1200, if you put too many coffee grounds in the filter it could overflow in the brewing process, and sometimes grounds would get into the water system and clog the tube. The 1200 was designed not to be repairable, but customers tried anyway with some difficulty. After one successful repair, we eventually had to replace the 1200. So far, we have not had any overflow issues with the 3200. The larger basket (with possibly a bigger drip opening), the deeper reservoir and longer case, and the more stable, non-tilting lid may help with this, but we will see how it works over time. I do notice that they made the bottom panel easier to remove, with regular screws instead of Torx, if it ever comes to that. My one tip for users is to always use the filter holder with a filter in it, even if your water is fine, because that should help prevent grounds from getting into the heating system.In all, the 3200 is an excellent replacement for the 1200, and worth the extra money if you are choosing between the two models new.

Question:	does it froth milk and make espresso at the same time
Answer:	It comes with a 16 ounce Milk Pitch, that works good. I also bought a nice 20 ounce froth pitcher cause you I only fill 1/3 full on any pitcher as you need room to froth/stretch the milk, so 6 ounces in the 20 ounce pitch allows my wife and i to both have enough for a couple of cappuccinos.

Answer:	In addition to Randy B.'s CommentOne of the Most Important features/ changes to the 870 is the ThermoCoil Change, as the 860 had a Bolt together two Halfs with a seal sandwiched in between the two halfs this was a Possible failure point and could Leak down the road. I have seen reports of the thermo Block of the 860 leaking, But the new 870 uses a ThermoCoil, it is a Full length of Stainless Steel tubing (the water only comes in contact with the stainless steel) that coils around a few times nothing is Bolted together as the tubing is one continuous length to eliminate Leaks, and is surrounded by Aluminum, this alum houses the heater and makes for Fast heating up, for steaming and cooling down to 200 degrees for pulling the shot, so temps are more precise than before. This New ThermoCoil is a big Improvement over the 860 model. I saw a cut away version of both the 860 thermo block and the 870 thermoCoil the 870 is a much better design and should last a long time, as long as you don't run it out of water and burn it up. The Grinder Burrs have a little better/tighter tolerance for a little finer grinds. In addition to Randy B.'s Comment

Answer:	The BES870XL Barista Express™ features a dedicated hot water dispenser for tea, Americano and pre-heating of parts. In terms of the adjustable programming to the 1 shot and 2 shot buttons, which default to roughly 1 ounce and 2 ounce respectively, there is a limitation to the total output of hot water through the espresso group head. This limitation is in place to sustain optimum espresso temperature; a maximum of around 5-6 ounces can be programmed or extracted in one pull. A true Americano is a double shot with hot water added to the desired volume / ratio (instead of a very large shot, which would have negative effects on the taste).
