Answer:	It definitely kills rats. We had 1 or more and within a few days of putting the Tomcat out, they were gone. I haven’t seen any dead mice but I’m assuming it kills them too.

My guess is for child and pet safety reasons. The warfarin active can kill and I guess if a hawk or fox eats a poisoned mouse.....Unfortunately, the old snap trap is the way to go. Glue traps are inhumane.

Clean the Stains

The filtration unit is made of rust resistant 304 stainless steel. If the bolt turns black, you may think it's rust, but actually it is from coffee stains. This happens when you soak coffee in the container for a long time and the bolt becomes stained by coffee. It can be cleaned by soaking in acidic liquids (vinegar, lemon juice, etc.) for a while. The stain will fall off and the bolt will revert to a new look.

304 Stainless Steel Screws

The screws are made of stainless steel materials which will not rust or loosen easily. Please tighten the screw to prevent the beaker from falling off after removing for cleaning. If the screw becomes loose, use a screwdriver to tighten it and then you can continue to use the french press.

Unscrew the Filter Screen

The filters are polished (so don't worry about being hurt) and can be taken off by twisting. With one hand fixing the knob on the top of the plunger, you can use the other hand to twist the filter screen holder/plate counter-clockwise. In this way, you can unscrew the filtration unit and add filters as you prefer.

Answer:	Holds 50oz. I use a 16 oz. mug but at 6 oz. cups = 8 cups
Question:	Can this French press heat the water on an induction stovetop
Answer:	Yes, but I would not recommend it. Better to heat, just before boiling (do not boil) your water in one of your stainless steel pots and then pour the water over the ground beans in the coffee maker. Let the coffee soak in the hot water for four minutes then slowly press. If you were to heat the water directly in the press then you won't have as much control to make sure the water is not boiled and you'll get a better cup of coffee if you pour the hot water over the ground coffee and not already have the coffee in there with water that's changing temperature. Also, you'll get better tasting coffee by putting the coffee in before the hot water as opposed to putting the grounds into a pot of hot water. Don't ask me why but it just turns out better that way.

Answer:	A good rule of thumb is: 1 TBSP of coffee for every 7 - 8 oz of water. I use about 6 heaping TBSP for a full 1.5L pot, and I find it gives me a very strong, full-flavored coffee. Use more coffee for a stronger brew, and less for a weaker brew. It all comes down to taste. It may take several pots to determine the best combination of water, coffee grounds and brew-time for you. I've been french-pressing for many years, and I still experiment from time to time with proportions.

Answer:	It is plastic but the strainer part is fine mesh. It's super easy to keep clean. I have two of these now and there is nothing like it. Well worth the money. The coffee stays hot for about 4 hours.

Answer:	The press I bought came with extra filters, although I have no idea how to change the mesh. So far, no coffee grounds have made it through to my cup of coffee.

Answer:	These do come in different sizes and the 12-oz single cup press would be a good solution if there is just one person drinking coffee. The wife and I have 14-oz cups, and so we needed a bigger press so picked one that was over 30 ounces capacity so we could do two, 14 oz cups of coffee. We have 2 French presses of the same size, one glass and the other stainless steel, and they both work great. However the glass one is easy to break, especially when washing. The stainless steel is sturdy and pretty much indestructible, so, that is the reason we like the metal version. But the one cup press should make just as good coffee as larger ones.

Answer:	hi- i am pretty confident is saying a big NO! I have been loving this and using it for about a month now every day to make bullet proof coffee . It really keeps the coffee super hot and is well double insulated - all parts come apart and look to be 100%stainless and the screens that filter out the grinds as well . It hands down the best in here I feel as far as no plastic or weird toxic metals ! And the price is amazing I think !!!

The French press coffee maker is the simplest of all brewing systems, where coarsely ground beans meet hot water right off the boil. The right temperature (195–205 °F/ 92-96°C) brings the optimal extraction power for the essential oils in the beans to develop their full flavor profile in just four minutes. An easy press on the plunger locks the grinds at the bottom and stops the brewing process.

Step 1

For each 4-ounces of coffee, put 1 rounded tablespoon or 1 Bodum scoop of coarse-ground coffee into the pot.

Step 2

Pour hot (not boiling) water into the pot. Leave a minimum of 1 inch of space at the top. Stir with a plastic spoon.

Step 3

Place the plunger unit on top of the pot. Turn lid to close off the pour spout opening. Do not press down. Let the coffee brew for 4 minutes.

Step 4

After 4 minutes press down the plunger and enjoy.
